The Kh-38MT may not actually exist

It has the same IOG as the Brimstone 1. Brimstone 3 upgrades the INS

I have no idea what that is

French/Italian contraption. Has a slightly silly missile, as most France-related contraptions are wont.

Ah, yeah that would be good. I want either the anglo-ukrainian ASRAAM slinger or Skysabre for Britain

Lazy photo filched from wikipedia because couldn’t be bothered opening a new tab.

Mostly people I squad up with playing it in GRB or SQB, they tend to do completely fine. Sure, the KH-38MT, AASM SBU-64 and even AGM-65D offer advantages as long range fire and forget weaponry, but you can’t prefire them for example. The Brimstone is arguably the best weapon to take out capable SPAA players with because of the ability to do that.
The AGM-65A and B can’t hold up to any of these weapons at all.

Spoiler

Here’s an example:

I saw “improved IOG” listed somewhere in a description of the Brimstone II, maybe that was wrong or I’m misremembering things then.

Thats incredibly niche scenario when you focus single AA and nothing else.

F&F planes can simply ripple fire all of their ordnance and take out several ground targets during that time window and be completly fine.

Brimstone 2 is 200% increased range and improved HOBS

Taking out SPAAs at top tier is very common in my experience. It’s also quite effective at increasing your winrates since it prevents your teammates from taking a head on against one and dying. If SPAA are dead it’s also less of a problem that you’re firing SALH munitions.
Another advantage is that you can actually engage people that are close to wrecks, which becomes a problem for F&F munitions often, especially in late game and/or on small maps.

Most of the time, sure.

Well, at least when I touched toptier, did mostly focus AA so that folk could smite the other folks on the ground with less threat. But haven’t played it much in a while. But I was also doing that with a Gripen, so my ability to target lots of stuff was kinda kneecapped.

The point is though. A typhoon has to engage in such tactics to defeat a Pantsir…did a match in the tornado Gr1 the other day and there wasn’t anything I could do Vs a Pantsir. All my PGMs were shot down.

But a Su25SM3 Vs an ADATS? it’s point, fire and 1x kill guaranteed against said SPAA. Same is true for 80% of top tier SAMs

Found carpet bombing them was effective on its introduction. From tree top level-ish.

Probably is still now. Shame we don’t have Bl755 or that unguided bombs cost as much as GBUs.

It would be nice for dumb bombs to receive a cost decrease at high tier, and for cluster ordnance. Would enable some silly plays, and some aircraft to be a bit more useful.

Yeah it would.

The problem is cas itself, no matter how good of spaa you have, cas will still be dominant.

Whether you have bombs or agms, cas is still better

I’ve seen 3 nukes happen from people spawning in brimstone carrying planes, killing our whole team, then getting a nuke.

Separate matches of course, but still.

Its common at any BR.

Difference is how much effort it requires.

dancing around like forest fairy on crack just to achieve what single Kh-38MT can by simply smashing the spacebar sounds like lot of effort for one kill.

Again, F&F achieve the same with less effort.

Any CAS can be good in uncontested airspace, this say literally nothing about performance of Brimstones nor any other missile, bomb or rocket for that matter.

Another extremely niche scenario, importance of which is diminished by the fact that any sort of large enough ordnance landing close enough to SPAA will destroy it regardless.

Yes, the game mode with small ass maps where you can lock everything in ACM mode, so important “bud”.

Thats sorta irrelevant. Ive got several nukes with M60s, despite that i dont think they are best tanks in the game. (I mean they are but thats beside the point).
