I am pretty sure there are some others similar to what we have, but you’re gonna have to cut me some slack. I can’t remember all the Russian numbers, they didn’t bother to keep them ordered 😿
For the context of GRB there would be little to no difference between Brimstone II and III if I’m not mistaken.
That’s a balancing and gameplay decision that’s holding back quite a few systems currently, most notably the AH-64D.
Nothing I think, unless someone finds a picture of an LMUR glued to a plane. If there’s nothing coming later I can see them adding the KH-38MT so it can be “king of IR AGMs” for a while before the meta moves past it.
What good players can do with a given weapon system is a pretty good indicator of its capabilities I think. What else would you judge balancing on?
if we are stuck with SAL, then Brimstone 3 would be quite a major boost.
But it is still something that can be later added.
You said that Brimstone 2 might not be added because
So Brismtone 2, 3 and Spear-3 and then going back and adding MMW versions and then going back again and adding LOAL versions is at least 9 new weapons that can be added (10 if you also split Spear-3 into GPS only, GPS+SAL, GPS+SAL+MMW and then GPS+SAL+MMW+LOAL) Let alone other weapon types like CBUs, ARM and cruise missiles.
Right, and it never existed. That is what this thread is about. Proof it actually existed.
So far, the evidence for it existing is the same as the A2G ASRAAM, which would be a good alternative to MMW Brimstones.
So Soviets need the KH-38MT because they are bad at the game, and Germany, Italy and Britain dont need the Brimstone 2 because they are good at the game?
Stat based balancing is a mess and anyone who even half pays attention to the BRs knows that.
which is why for example the Mig-23MLD has a lower Sim Battle rating to the Tornado GR1. So are you saying the Tornado GR1 is better than the Mig-23MLD because its got a higher BR?
As anyone could have worked out, I loitered until folk came in to land then salvoed Kh 38s. And then promptly fumbled it after being annoying. I was/am too tired to play properly, so it’s just screwing around and then failing miserably lol
The Brimstone II would already add IOG and drastically improve range. It’s best to implement things step by step instead of starting with the strongest version.
It would be quite confusing to have multiple versions of the same weapon with the featureset enabled to different degrees. It could also cause balancing problems (even more so for systems like the AGM-62 ER). It’s easier to just add a Brimstone II/III with mmW and LOAL capability later and leave the previous versions cut down to SALH capability.
You are in a discussion about balancing. That has nothing to do with the KH-38MT being realistic or not. Just adding it in is confusing and obnoxious. Besides that I’m not even arguing for the KH-38MT to stay in the game.
I didn’t say anything like that. I said that good pilots with the Typhoon perform well, which indicates that it is a very capable platform in its current state. Otherwise it wouldn’t be able to do so, like the Tornado GR.4 which does much worse.
Judging balancing by how good players perform in vehicles is the opposite of stats based balancing.
Its SALH,requiring for you to fly in such way that the target stays within the gimbal limit of the targeting pod, severely limiting your defensive options
It requires direct hit to do any sort of damage
And its slows requiring you to stay exposed for extremely long
Ita in no way shape or form comparable to even A and B Mavericks, let alone any advanced F&F munition.
