The Kh-38MT may not actually exist

if it does exsist it almost certiantly not in the way it is in game currently, I would probably have at most gen 2 thermals and most likely be like Hammer with out the ability to track targets in motion

No, you go with publicly available information. For KH38 MT and its entry in active service, there is none, so it doesn’t get added. Simple as, really.

Repeat it as much as you want, “circumstantial evidence” is not enough when trying to prove something.

No document for cancellation will exist if said project was never started. The KH-38MT was an “Look what we could possibly do if you give us money to do it.” But by the lack of evidence it looks like NO ONE wanted to fund it. So instead everyone funded the laser guided variant.

You will not find documentation for anything that didn’t make it past a sales pitch.

Are you sure?

Thats not enough.
Im going to use the LASER PGM
There is a picture of if even with giant Laser PGM on it. However the missile does not seem to have the seeker, or it cant be seen from that angle. PGM is a modular weapon. Manufacturer is more than capable of producing laser seekers. Laser version is mentioned in all promotional materials.
Yet, it is denied for the game, as there is not enough proof for it.

you fine with british jets getting SPEAR 3 then? its more real then the KH38MT and has actual video proof of it being test fired on a typhoon (far more evidence then the KH38MT currently has lol)

lmaoooooo that right there is cope my friend lol

30SM didn’t need the MTs in the first place.
SM3 is a brick at any reasonable BR it could go to, so at least having 4x of the best missiles is something to go for.
SU-34 couldn’t move much down in BR as ARHs are a constraint, so something has been added to mitigate it’s FM woes so it can keep it BR without pushing ARHs down on vehicles that don’t really deserve that.

@dedale_stargate
And armor values aren’t publicly stated information, which is one of the most important things they upgrade that’s relevant to the WT and it’s gameplay.

It’s obviously enough by Gaijin’s standard to add something in the game as a balancing measure.

@DevilO6
Things get denied for the lack of evidence until they’re needed for game balance, which is evident from many fake vehicles added over the years.

Maybe I found suitable replace for Kh-38MT but I need to find more info. This article write about IR S-25IRS and also show seeker variants (but dont write which one is IR one).

Yes and it has caused issues, but that’s getting off topic

a balancing measure yes, which is not the case of this missile, as it doesn’t “balance” anything

crazy KH-38ML is right there and this one would be fine with only FnF bombs not like it doesnt have KH-29Ds as well

B-b-b-but it isnt my 20km mach 2 top attack missile that lets me bully anybody that doesnt have a 18km sam!!!

I’m much late to this, but I also only fly 6xBrim + 4x PW4s. I do not see a point in taking more Brims when I find PW4s to honestly be more effective (considering they can be dropped at speeds above M 1.0), and then I just use the 6x AMRAAM + 2x IR.

Tbh, at this point my “CAS” loadout is just “CAP but can also do CAS if needed” lol.

It’s off topic indeed, but I was just trying to say how we’re going to deal with guesstimated vehicles and weapons in the future and there’s no way of escaping that, of course if you don’t want to stop adding vehicles until they’re 100% correctly implemented.

We don’t know what Gaijin thinks about that, but in my opinion SM3 and SU-34 definitely needed some help which definitely came along with 38MTs.

@Smugspite
38ML is a laser guided missile and definitely isn’t on par with 38MT, especially on platforms that simply cannot survive CAP attacks.

It has the same seeker as other IR missiles found at top tier, so it acquires target lock from the same distance.

another crazy thing none of those planes need the MT to be good, if things like the tornado Gr4 with PGM500s can do fine against pantsirs with one of the slowest missiles at top tier you can do fine with KH-29Ds or KH-38MLs

No it has a 3rd gen thermal with 25x zoom. While the target lock is set the same across the board. Other missiles preform a much less favorable from the ranges the 38MT can enjoy.

difference is that its mach 2 unlike every other missile at that br oh and has IOG meaning even if it loses lock it will still most likely hit which even with a near miss will kill due it its massive HE warhead

but no do keep trying to say its balanced and that russia should keep a fantasy missile

Using single games to demonstrate if something is balanced or not is always a terrible argument. I count 11 potential Kh-38MT kills by your team. Here’s one of the better Rafale games I had:

Spoiler

Srsly u want to viable this for a missile xD?

He’s posting SB battle results
You’re posting RB battle results

It’s generally much easier to do CAS in ground RB than it is in ground SB
Since In RB you have markers for friendly tanks and you can use third person view and mouse aim

There is really no contest between Kh-38MT and AASM

Kh-38MT is much faster and has more energy which means:

1- Less chance of losing track by enemies passing behind obstacles or going into cover (intentionally or as is usually the case, unintentionally)

2- Less chance of target getting killed by other tanks on the ground or other friendly aircrafts and you ending up with a wasted missile (well unless they also have Kh-38 and launch before you)

3- It can loft more and dive from "more steep’ trajectories, making it harder for the SPAA to intercept it, and the fact that the best SPAA is on the red side doesn’t help it either; Overall I rarely if ever see Kh-38s getting intercepted by the SPAA.

4- It can maneuver more sharply allowing for better “off-boresight” capability than AASM, and allowing for better Pk against aerial targets such as aircrafts and helicopters.
