The Kh-38MT may not actually exist

Nonsense

That’s just another photo of KH-38ME from this at a different angle.

And there is no way that isn’t just a laser seeker;

This is the Kh-38MT
There’s a different head for the laser, and there should be a grid that doesn’t exist here.

I make believe aha comment

There might be another newer laser seeker with additional features but that doesn’t change that the photo is showing a laser seeker.
this is a laser seeker.

  1. All 3 are MLE’s, I already covered this. Repeating the same lie doesnt make it true.
  2. Pictures from the war are against forum rules
  3. Second and third pics are both mockups

The ME is a platform with different guidance heads.E-export is not a laser head

Can even see on the final production version of 38ML the tiny FOV in the centre of the seeker, reminiscent of all laser seekers

No, and no again.There are only 2 ML version generation

Where is the war in the photo?

this looks extremly similar to the gimbal the IRST on the Flankers is mounted to

It’s a gyrocopter what kind of depression is that

the head of a laser seeker is always a tiny FOV, this is pure copium. IIR seekers and laser seekers look nothing alike.

IIR much larger and wider;

thats not what i meant,
the thing you screenshoted in particular looks similar to the gimbal the flanker IRST uses to control Elveation

I went into a newsbank service that has text compilations of news articles from across everywhere (support your local library) and theres a brief mention of the Kh-38M family foor the T-50

Russia’s new warplane briefly seen, much talked-of at MAKS-2011 air show
BBC Monitoring International Reports
August 20, 2011

image

They don’t even mention IR there.

I do not know the article name for this one other than it was done by Piotr Butowski for IDR in 2014, whatever IDR is

So the IR seeker was still in design stages in 2014.
Searching for AOMZ documents about the seeker may be a possible different route to finding something

After reading through all this I think it’s very possible that the MT variant was simply abandoned because seen as unnecessary. The Russian military doesn’t have money to waste and they often take down projects that are not considered important

Brighten up the image, sure looks like a laser seeker to me, which since its labelled as a X-38ME actually makes sense.
