The Kh-38MT may not actually exist

how does this look anything like this

The area around the lense looks exactly nothing like the laser seeker thats in the X-38ME your purported as a 38MT

Maybe its a language barrier but people are telling you that from the photo provided, the seekers actual FoV (the thing behind the glass) is miniscule compared to general IR seekers that are much larger.
Reposting the literal same picture with microsoft paint “IR” text and an arrow doesnt mean anything. Its quite bothersome at this point.

Anyway can we get some info from gaijin perhaps on how they came to the conclusion that Kh38MT exists beyond a “marketing lie”?

TBF it would make sense that the KH-38 seeker is also looking downwards just like the kh-29 one

Is it that hard to respect staff members when you’re engaging in conversation with them?

Please… try to have some decency instead of resorting to insults and attempt to provide actual information.

Oh now I see what they mean, yeah we can’t see well but that’s not impossible

Doesn’t “make sense” thats just more copium, it can be in any position.

He is trying to say that the IR part is the other darker shape seen there pointing south south-west (down slightly left) in the image and not the brass colored thing pointing north north-west (up slightly left).

Still doesn’t make sense though.

if you have a relaxed gyroscope which you would likely have at an expo because you wouldnt power the seeker for obvious reasons
the seeker would infact look down
same over here

the “brass colored thing pointing north north-west” is likely a gimbal just like on the Flanker IRST as i stated before

Don’t you see what gyroscopes look like?

yea but that just looks like the seekers gyroscopic mounting and not as a second seeker. Would be genuinely surprised if the Kh38s had dual mode guidance of both IR/TV and laser

Depends on how the rotating block is made, if it’s balanced enough it might be in any direction and thus might point up
not invalidating what you say tho it’s just a remark

h means a part of the gyroscope, and IR is the finder itself.

why would you want an A2G weapon looking upwards tho?

Yeah I can’t make myself see something that isn’t there, if your only evidence is to point to literally anything but the laser seeker mounted in a missile labelled X-38ME and say this slight colouration change in a darker part is some how the 38MT seeker I don’t know what to say. And then to try to back that claim with a completely different looking seeker from a different missile is wild.
