You get everything wrong. Kh-29TE its the Extended range of the Kh-29T the TD its the IR version for night operations. I already posted a pic of a naval Su-30sm testing the TD against a practice target for a promo/doc video.
Pretty bad analogy. And pretty much what this thread echo chamber/cj has become. Kh-38 missile exist. Its has being use in combat. What its unclear if the MT variant (or the seeker) its on Russian arsenal. And Lmur has already prove they also can produce IR seeker, so the whole muh Russian can’t produce IR seeker its of the windows… So again the only unclear factor is if the missile its actually on Russian Arsenal.
My guess is that Even if its on Russian inventory its on low amounts. The missile its kind an overkill and pricey. And the ML the laser version its more than enough for what the kh-38 its use against. And more important its hard to jammer. Russian and even the CEO of the company that produce Kh-38 talk that jamming its a problem in current conflict.
Same yelowish glass covering and same large round lens behind it.
At least, the seeker exists, the base for a missile exists and a mockup of how it should look like also exist.
That its not what i said. Pretty much its unclear if MT is being produce. They can produce the seeker. But its an option that in the end they decide to no produce it for whatever reason. But the use of thing like Kh-39 lmur said other wise.
I wonder if they could just put Kh-39 seeker on Kh-38. I’ve see that it kinda need some modifications for the carrier (Mi-28 and K-52m). For the MITL thing.
its not that easy, completly different values etc, the LMUR or KH-39 has a range of 16km
the KH38MT has way more range, while a huge part is thanks to the engine.
An IR seeker on a completly different missle version doesnt prove the workability of another one.
The only proof of the KH38MT as you said is only this Mock UP.
The 2 parts existing doesnt matter, intergration, programmation etc needs to happen as well. You cant just stick them together and it works.
What u posted is no prove
All of them are being use to describe the same missile. Izdelye 306 was suppose to be a version that was on the work with a tandem warhead. Edit; Read that 306 also should have 25km range.
on the work, means it doesnt exist yet.
All the stuff only talks about the KH-38, nobody is saying the body exists.
But nobody of you is able to prove the existence of an actual integrated IR version.
Only ifs and similar. But the IR seekers of LMUR etc are different, they have completly different heads for the lenses alone. This already means its different stuff and cant be used to prove the workability
no idea, but it gets confusing when you start talking about them and the seeker alone existing is simply not realy true either.
Nobody says russia doesnt have IR seekers, but the KH38 seekers with the needed specs is another matter. It is not as simple as putting on the seeker of another missle
