If that is the same one in the Challenger 1, Challenger 2 and TIALD then yes, should be gen 2 (why its only Gen 2 in the challenger 2 but Gen 1 in the Challenger 1 and TIALD in game is a matter for an entirely different topic)
Catherine FC not XP. Two separate imagers.
Follow the quoted message.
My bad it hid like half of one of the quoted messages.
I think you misunderstood. I’m saying Russia has already been producing domestic thermals for their tanks already and is being used in the Sosna-U in lieu of the Catherine thermals
Not one thing in my statement did I say that it was used on the Kh-38. But if you wanna go that way, they are in fact throwing thermals away by utilizing them on LMUR and Lancets
No it doesn’t, here is the explanation from google search:
In the context of missiles, IOG stands for Inertial Onboard Guidance. This system allows a missile to fly towards the last known position of a target, or a fixed point, if it loses tracking data. Essentially, IOG provides a “best guess” trajectory when a missile is unable to maintain a solid lock on its target.
Which means, if the target wasn’t known in the first place, as it is the case with a point lock, it doesn’t even do anything.
it also works before the seeker finds the target eg. hellfires and brimstones before you activate laser will go roughly to where the target was on the map but because they dont have the perfect in game IOG of KH38 they will suffer from some IOG drift
Also additionally thermal generations ain’t a thing irl. It’s entirely a war thunder only thing. Thermal clarity is based on iirc the resolution it gets to process? FPA iirc idk, idk enough physics to explain it
Already knew this. Couldn’t care less. My point has been the 38MT having 3rd gen sights doesn’t make sense.
Then why did you respond to me?
Are you saying these are 3rd gen imagers?
Yea they go towards a fixed point, but when you never lase the target, how should it predict what the target it doesn’t “know” is doing ?
-
You were claiming they were not installing them on their tanks. I’m literally countering that Thermals are still being integrated on Russian tanks?
-
You responded to me also???
-
No clue, like most military footage, there was post-processing involve to censor true capabilities
it doesnt?
why would it need to?
The explanation says, when the seeker loses track of the target, IOG guesses it’s position and guides the missile in.
So if you never have a track on a target it doesn’t do anything.
At least that is what i am understanding from the explanation of it.
Read my comment again. I said if these are 3rd gen thermals why aren’t they using it on their tanks instead of the 2nd gen which they have.
Yes i will reply when someone replys to me.
I don’t know feels like if Russia censors it’s True capabilities it’s usually in the other direction
Just look at the countless claims of fixed Reverse speed for the t90m and they showed off a t80 in Reverse but did Cover the Speed Dails
Because it’s a different imager in the 1st place? In fact you responded to someone about russian thermals a few weeks ago
I find it interesting you bring in useless information a lot.
What I gathered from that is that the T90M doesn’t have 3rd gen not even in game. I am still trying to gather information on the T-80BVM and where they determined it is a third Gen optic.
GAIJIN patiently waiting for this thread to die so they dont have to address their shoddy business practices
No no, the response Im expecting is:
“We have reviewed all the information submitted and realised that the KH-38MT is underperforming and thus have decided to buff it dramatically”
I mean, if they do that we can bring it up in the future as an example, so it would help us
