If that is the same one in the Challenger 1, Challenger 2 and TIALD then yes, should be gen 2 (why its only Gen 2 in the challenger 2 but Gen 1 in the Challenger 1 and TIALD in game is a matter for an entirely different topic)

I think you misunderstood. I’m saying Russia has already been producing domestic thermals for their tanks already and is being used in the Sosna-U in lieu of the Catherine thermals
Not one thing in my statement did I say that it was used on the Kh-38. But if you wanna go that way, they are in fact throwing thermals away by utilizing them on LMUR and Lancets

No it doesn’t, here is the explanation from google search:
In the context of missiles, IOG stands for Inertial Onboard Guidance. This system allows a missile to fly towards the last known position of a target, or a fixed point, if it loses tracking data. Essentially, IOG provides a “best guess” trajectory when a missile is unable to maintain a solid lock on its target.
Which means, if the target wasn’t known in the first place, as it is the case with a point lock, it doesn’t even do anything.
it also works before the seeker finds the target eg. hellfires and brimstones before you activate laser will go roughly to where the target was on the map but because they dont have the perfect in game IOG of KH38 they will suffer from some IOG drift
Also additionally thermal generations ain’t a thing irl. It’s entirely a war thunder only thing. Thermal clarity is based on iirc the resolution it gets to process? FPA iirc idk, idk enough physics to explain it

Yea they go towards a fixed point, but when you never lase the target, how should it predict what the target it doesn’t “know” is doing ?

So if you never have a track on a target it doesn’t do anything.
At least that is what i am understanding from the explanation of it.

What I gathered from that is that the T90M doesn’t have 3rd gen not even in game. I am still trying to gather information on the T-80BVM and where they determined it is a third Gen optic.
