I don’t make up the names for it, just telling you. It’s called 3D but I can’t be arsed. Call it grandma vectoring for all I care. It’s OT.
Again with the IRIST. Is the IRIST currently in game on any air platform? Why even bring it up? Or are you getting IRIST (a modern day fox 2) and IRST (Infrared search and track) confused?
Here you go, read this. (Fair warning. It does not mention once to engage the incoming missile in a McM kind of manner)
The only manual that is referenced in your whole article are from the 1970s and 1980s at best. One of the references is a video by a former F-14 pilot…so once again 1970s/80s. Everything else is basically conjecture.
You are not meeting your own standards here. Where is the manual for the employment and capabilities of the AMRAAM? Or the R-77-1? Or any of the other highly classified ARH missiles that we will presumably have in the game.
IRIS-T is in the game as a ground launched weapon and it will presumably be added to the game at some point; unless we are assuming that we will never get any new generation of IR or ARH missiles.
So do we think that ARH seekers haven’t improved since the 1970s? Or that radar capability + datalink isn’t able to track incoming ARH missiles? Why are we using AI slop to try to say it’s “impossible” when the marketing material (which at this point is considered a source) says that at least 2 missiles in the game are capable of it?
it’s impossible and they’re just coping about their missile performance, same as they do with the meteor missile where they only quote aim120a/b ranges as it’s a 90s design that didn’t enter service until almost 2020. but hey I’m sure manufacturers have always been 100% truthful and honest in their brochures, I have a couple bridges you might be interested in buying btw. (also they claim a 37 mile no escape zone) which is just objectively impossible lmao
