Neither of these are moderated by gaijin, but 3rd parties.
Both places also have a habit of shunning people who don’t agree with the majority opinion.
Correct. Hence why I think the official foruma are actually the best place for serious discussion, despite the fact that we still have a lot of people who bring their discord/reddit mentality over. At least thread hijacking and flaming is mitigated to an extent at all.
then why are you defending it
this whole tgread is about that the meta is unfun and bad for gameplay and here you are defending it
seems like you dont dislike it that much after all
Can you show me where exactly did I defend it?
then why are you arguing here
if you arent
I asked you to show me where did I state something defending the iron dome meta.
Can you do that for me, or are you just going to deflect instead of saying “yeah maybe you didn’t, my bad”?
shifting the goal post, explain to me why you would argue in a thread thats literally “iron dome meta bad, please change” across multiple days
if you agree that the iron dome meta is bad
once again
You claim I defend the iron dome meta.
Can you show me where exactly did I say anything defending the iron dome meta?
once again you are ignoring what i have said
rather getting hung up on semantics
Ok so you make a claim and don’t have anything to back it up.
I will not continue engaging in your off-topic side quest.
Moving on.
you mean doing one thing and saying the other
you still didnt explain why you are arguing here if you fundamentaly agree with the thread
My replies are clear and consistent.
If you don’t understand my position, it’s because you didn’t read the thread.
I did the exact same thing, but I hopped into an F-18. Unfortunately, there’s another issue: people in Sim are abusing cheats. They keep their radar off at all times but know exactly where their opponents are, allowing them to flank and strike without giving anyone a chance to react. It’s happened to me several times lately. At first, I thought it was just a skill gap because there are a lot of talented pilots out there, so I decided to test it. I hid at low altitude at the very edge of the map with my radar off, and they found me every single time without my RWR ever pinging once.
Or they would resort to spawn camping; every time I switched airfields, they knew exactly which one I had spawned at, despite me taking off with my radar off. Combine all of this with Gaijin’s inability or unwillingness to reward actual skill and implement truly realistic game design, and you have the perfect recipe for the failure of this mode. It’s a reflection of the steady decline this game has been seeing over the last few years
This has nothing to do with iron dome.
Yes, I went off on a tangent, but unfortunately, it just adds to the problem. On one hand, you have people spamming missiles; on the other, you have those adopting these tactics—and they might even be using both. They probably keep their radar off until the very last second and then spam missiles, already knowing exactly where you are.
Yes but this contributes nothing to the topic at hand.
I think everybody in this thread agrees that the odds of an air to air missile intercepting another AAM should be decreased, regardless if you think that it should not be possible at all or not, so there’s no need for vitriol. I have already made several suggestions that can be used to mitigate the issue, so if you have other suggestions go ahead, and maybe some moderators can then forward them to the developers.

Why are you complaining about me using an air realistic replay as an example of a mechanic in air sim, when missile code works the same in air realistic and sim?
aiming at a ir missile with your mouse cursor with an ir missile is not the same issue as spamming 12 fox 3s on TWS at an enemy’s fox 3s only to then run him down.
I appreciate what you’re saying but IR shootdowns are far less of an issue than your entire arsenal shot down before you can get to the merge.
Especially for mouse aim. In sim, if someone shoots down my fox 2 with a fox 2, i see that as fair game.
