T-10KUB-1 did in fact die… the program was stunted after the AL-31FP installation in 1999, only really doing flight tests and the sort before being cancelled in 2005.
And I more specifically mean Kh-41, or air launched P-270, it was test fitted to Su-33 and T-10V but never went anywhere past that sadly, was proposed to be integrated onto Su-33 but never happened.

I’m gonna be real, R-73s are the easiest IRCCM missiles to deal with, seeing as they’re slow as hell and easy to flare. If you’re getting within the R-73’s optimum parameters anyway, you’ve already messed up at least three or four things along the way that led you there and you kinda deserve to lose that fight.
There does not exist a single plane at top tier that needs the IRIS-T. What you’ve conveniently failed to mention is that, alongside TVC and excellent maneuverability, the IRIS-T’s IRCCM is very good and difficult to spoof- arguably the hardest or second-hardest out of the IR missiles currently in the game. This is why the missile has no place in Air RB as it stands; what you want isn’t balance, what you want is an unbeatable “I win” button.
MICAs are, frankly, a joke in BVR. They run out of energy very quickly and are easy to notch+chaff if you have the slightest clue what you’re doing. They’re effective at 10km at most, and even that’s a stretch.
The suggestion to add the Derby in lieu of the Meteor, especially given the context of the suggestion is about BVR capability is… baffling, to say the least. The Derby isn’t a BVR missile, at least not in the way the AIM-120 or R-77-1 is. On top of that, missile reliability is very subjective for the most part, so any claims about reliability are a moot point without evidence to back them up.
The AIM-120C-5 is a slight downgrade compared to the 120A in terms of off-the-rail pull, but it makes up for this by being better in BVR (for the most part). This is because it conserves energy far better, and will usually catch people by surprise by virtue of it still having energy to hit even when the enemy thinks they’ve evaded it. Aside from that the actual practical differences in performance are minimal. Also, no one’s forcing you to “rely” on the AIM-120C-5; you can just run the AIM-120A if you prefer that. There’s no rule that says you HAVE to run the “top” missile on any aircraft.
if you’re getting within the R-73s optimum parameters and it gets fired at you, you press the countermeasure button once to survive at the cost of literally just a singular flare. sounds like a pretty good deal to me. that’s how pathetic the R-73 is. the TVC is a genuine gimmick, the missile is best used from far away
no you don’t understand, my SPAMRAAM bus eurofighter needs a full loadout of AIM-120C-8s, Meteors, and IRIS-Ts to be competetive against the evil super hornet with a dogwater flightmodel and 12 shitty missiles
Su-30SM2 is in a similar situation, missing R-37M, not in game yet though, it will probably receive it later if not kept back for BR reasons.
Can’t forget the Rafale also being held back by not having Meteor.

also people that dont cut their afterburner depending on the aspect are going to have a hard time flaring the r73 especially twin engine fighters
