Grounding the BMPT in reality. Insane dispersion, relict not being the most OP shit ever, making the unmanned turret still explode on ammo hits or destroy the turret systems completely. It’s a T-90 that trades it’s 125mm for two dinky 30mms and some ATGMs. Treat it as such
I can get behind most of that sans the dispersion - the game needs less RNG slop, not more. I am equally against all artificial dispersion on every other gun or ordinance of any size in an identical manner.
Have you seen the BMPT gun cams? Realism in this case is poor accuracy
artifical dispersion is pinpoint accuracy for 2A42s
frankly if that is how the community thinks SPAAs should be then this game has gone in the wrong direction
FAPDS != APDS-T
FAPDS (Frangible Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot, DM 33) was used as primary AA munition on Gepard 1 A2 in full belts.
They initially wanted to use it as anti-armour shell aswell but since they still had large stocks of DM 23 HVAPDS-T (which is ever so slightly better for armour penetration) that never happened.
It (Gepard 1 A2) is the only ingame 35mm KDA user (aside from PGZ ig) that can use it for this purpose due to featuring upgraded V0 measuring basis that 1) are sufficient to reliably measure the higher MV of ~1440m/s and 2) dont wear out instantly while doing so.
Ah yes, the classic reddit take of “aphe rework would have fixed it”
Lets visualise that:
The issue is not APHE fragmentation distribution but awful damage models that allow nonsense penetrations to happen in the first place.
If I can shoot a Abrams ufp (post dm rework), bounce into the mantlet, fuze outside of the tank and still kill half the crew because the shell spalls into the fighting compartment anyway, then thats not really a issue caused by APHE, is it?
Same as APHE fragmentation distribution changes wont randomly fix armour holes on vehicles. You can literally ufp T58 hull because the dm sucks, not because APHE fragmentation distribution is inaccurate.
This aside, the dev server tests have shown clearly that the added inconsistency (we all wanted more of that, right?) isnt high enough that it’d have a noticeable impact on high RoF cannons, but would solely screw over slower firing tanks that would then have currently possible/reliable shots made more inconsistent (more RNG, wohoo! Wait who complained about solid shot damage being unreliable again?)

Fun is subjective.
I think you’re the one that needs to go to WoT lol.
That definitely has everything to do with AAs going around the map.
Guns having perfect accuracy is fake and it’s perfect for something like WoT.
Yeah, and we both know that average players simply will NOT move if their AAs cannot at least punch through tank sides reliably. Thus the complaints remain below 7.3, and then resume beyond 9.7-ish as guided stuff outranges the York and company.
I’m aware it’s technically fake - but some technically real things are not fun for gameplay and WT therefore doesn’t model them. I lump random gun spraying in with the likes of armor quality issues, transmission fires, engine reliability, etc. All good and real, but not exactly suited for a game.
What’s the point of using a vehicle if the rounds will likely not fly where you aim it to?
yeah it’s crazy just did zero damage to one with a 105mm APDFSDS and he killed me with one 35mm shell
APDFSDS
Armor Piercing, Discarding Fin, Stabilized, Discarding Sabot?
The gepards just need to be moved to 9.0-9.3 minimum.
So there is no SPAA from 7.0 to 9.0 now.
Too bad, it’s realistic, you’ll have to get over it. Just like you’ll have to get over them not buffing spaa to be even better at being MBTs despite the fact they are ALREADY better at being MBTs than actual MBTs at 8.3.
Jesus christ please no the 246 does not need any more charges of INTERNATIONAL TERRORISM
That’s fine, the M163 and ZSU-23 cover that range perfectly fine.
M163 does not even cover 7.7 or 8.0, nevermind 8.3+. Same with ZSU-23-4 at 8.3+. Neither are in every tree either. Germany would quite literally have ZERO SPAA from 6.7 to 9.0.
Cool, you choose to get slaughtered by CAS, then.
No, I think they are just smart enough to know you can’t make SPAA better MBTs than MBTs. They also probably know there are other ways to balance CAS than just making SPAA supremely overpowered.
