The End of War Thunder?
No, I don’t believe that, and I’ll tell you why this is far from happening in detail below.
1st Point – Incentives for Grinding
To keep players dedicating their free time to War Thunder, the game has a “reward system” for grinding a nation. This allows players to start another nation with EXP “bonuses” for five battles, provided they are in the same mode where progress was made. This system is made even easier with a premium account, premium vehicles, and boosters.
2nd Point – Constant Updates
War Thunder receives four or five major updates per year, introducing AMAZING new vehicles that motivate players to grind for them. These updates also bring the sale of new premium packs or the return of older ones, which make grinding more accessible. For example, the T-72AV TURMS and SU-25K premium packs allow players to research the entire Russian ground and air tech trees efficiently.
3rd Point – New Technological Systems
The game continues to introduce new technological systems, such as advanced radars and 50G-capable missiles. Additionally, certain in-game mechanics have been simplified—like pre-configured keybinds that reduce the learning curve for executing real-life jet maneuvers.
4th Point – Future Vehicle Releases
Many highly anticipated vehicles have yet to be introduced, including the Yamato battleship, F-15EX, F-22, F-35, Su-57, Bismarck, and several other naval, aerial, and ground vehicles. Until these vehicles are added, players will remain engaged. War Thunder’s damage model, control mechanics, and battlefield strategy elements will continue to be superior to other games of this genre for a long time.
Final Thoughts – The Hate vs. Improvement Debate
I will continue to criticize War Thunder where necessary, but I will never follow the wave of players who “wish” for the game to end. There’s a major difference between hating the game but wanting it to improve and hating the game and wanting it to shut down especially when War Thunder remains the best game in its category.
We also have events and other activities to keep players engaged. So, my friend, the phrase “THE END OF WAR THUNDER IS NEAR” is simply not true. Right now, most of us are waiting for a specific game release this year, and some players are just saving money to afford what’s needed to play it. The recent drop in War Thunder’s player base is simply the effect of a well-established gaming franchise drawing attention away from other titles.
