The Elde 98 cannot compete with the current vehicles it now competes against. Every other nation has a range of 20km or at least 24 missiles it can drive out. Meanwhile the Elde 98 can only shoot a max of 8 missiles with its ammo box into the air with a max range of 12km. This doesn’t even compete with the ITO which gets 16 missiles and the same range just not an automated system. Based on this capacity the Elde should be 11.3 or it should have its ammo box quadrupled at the very least. Even based in this fact the missiles should be comparable to the IRIS-T with a launch range of 40km yet you gave it the 12km as the launch range.

The Elde 98 is the swedish designation of the IRIS-T.

I dunno if youve noticed but the missiles are different and you can tell by just looking at them.
The missile the EldE 98 uses is the IRIS-T SLS, not the SLM like what the german one has. The missile is smaller and lighter therefore you cant get any extra range out of it. Youre comparing an IRIS-T thats usually found on aircraft (kinda like the AIM-9X) to the improved variant thats twice its weight and size.
So in conclusion the big range difference isnt just made up.

I know, because I don’t want to face ARH SAMs with my Su-22 with only 12 countermeasures.

Its just nowhere near capable as the SLM.
But I can agree its underwhelming when you compare it to the others especially in ammo count.
The most realistic buff it can receive is probably more ammo boxes and thats it. I believe lowering it in BR isnt a good idea.
hey, dont get mad at me, i didnt confuse base IRIS-T with SLM variant. and beside that were still taking about german missile if you wanna go the extra mile.
yes, the base IRIS-T. one sweden literally took off gripen and slapped onto ground platform. it doesnt have any additional boosters to help it fight against the gravity (such as SLM), nor does it have the initial energy passed on from launching platform such as plane. its current range is pretty much in line with what i would expect from such setup.
the 40km range figure either comes from being air launched (and even then it would depend on conditions of the launch, such as is it head-on, what alt, what initial speed, is the target manuevering etc.) or it comes from entirely different variant (likely SLM).
eh, i dont see why its ammo box couldnt replenish full ammo two times instead of once. four missiles is rather low for platform at that BR without any other sort of weapon or capability.

It should be 11.7 IMO, I think 11.3 is too low, but I agree its much weaker then the other 12.0 SPAAs.
Elde 98 is one of the best 12.0 anti-airs in the game. Like putting Pantsir to 11.3.

You’re ignorant of the balance and use horrible CAS aircraft like su22 to try to defend reasonable downtiers
Not at all, out of all the new SPAA the elde 98 can be replaced by any top tier SPAA. I can get over the low range it has but it does not really improve in anything to the ItO 90M, besides the ability to fire and forget the missile and smoke. The range can be argued as the same compared to ItO, it cant kill any ground targets (unless you get lucky with arty), you get less missiles and when you run out you have to wait so your box can replenish them which is followed by 15 second “reload” until you can fire them again. So you essentially rely on your team doing good to reload on captured points.
Now imagine this, you still get outranged by any competent CAS player so you’re forced to either intercept the incoming munitions or hide. If anyone spawns any other SPAA theyre automatically more useful for your team. It’s only really effective if someone has the balls to come under 6km close to you (which is usually helis and someone with a deathwish). I cant see this little fella getting any better unless they want to bump its ammo box count up cuz it doesnt outperform anyone of the SPAA here really.
And you need a C category licence to drive with that trailer it drags around…
