As we can see, the German EC-665 Tiger UHT is at Battle Rating 13.0, the same as helicopters like the AH-64E and Mi-28NM which possess advanced DIRCM. However, it is only equipped with 8 fire-and-forget missiles that have relatively poor post-penetration damage (inferior to the 179 and LMUR). This situation is inherently unbalanced.
Then, if we turn our attention to the French EC-665 Tiger HAC, we encounter an even more peculiar situation. This helicopter is positioned at BR 12.3, yet it is equipped with the exact same ground attack arsenal as the UHT variant: no cannon and only 8 fire-and-forget missiles. This is utterly illogical.
Therefore, this is a balance issue that requires urgent attention. Here is my perspective:
Firstly, the presence of advanced DIRCM must be a paramount factor in Battle Rating allocation. Helicopters like the Z-10ME, Mi-28NM, and AH-64E unquestionably belong at 13.0.
However, for fire-and-forget helicopters without advanced DIRCM, such as Israel’s AH-60, the situation is different. It lacks DIRCM but carries 16 fire-and-forget missiles. It deserves a BR demotion, but it should not be placed at the same BR as the Tiger UHT/HAC. A more appropriate BR for the AH-60 would be 12.7.
Consequently, both the Tiger UHT and HAC should be positioned at 12.3. This effectively separates them from the 12.0 helicopters that lack fire-and-forget capability altogether.
The above represents my humble opinions. I sincerely hope Gaijin will consider them. We, the players, want to see a more balanced and enjoyable game, as that is what fuels our passion and motivation to continue playing.
this is the faimous gaijin balanc…
“balance”
Thanks for bringing this up I didn’t even notice lmao what gaijin, I think I know exactly what happened here they just uptiered all the top helicopters forgetting that germany only gets that one and it’s inferior to the rest
I feel like one issue tho is the Tiger HAD for Spain it should carry SPIKE-ER and not hell fires I believe they already gave it hell fires just so it want higher BR than the UHT because gaijin has like this rule where they can’t have a premium vehicle be higher BR than the highest vehicle in a tree same basically happened with the Turkish Augusta and why it was so bad and now you’re reminding me that the HAC actually never existed but yeah that’s besides the point
Well as seen with the dutch apaches, we can have a premium and tech tree addition from the same nation if the circumstances are right.
And in this case, I think a Spanish HAD Blk2 with SPIKE ER2s (16km range) or my preference, the H145M with the same missiles would be an appropriate answer to the underwhelming UHT.
Both the HAD and H145 have similar maneuverability and avionics to those found on the UHT, and they would offer a similar playstyle (being a light heli that can pop up & fire then hide again)
I don’t see how some have issues with this aircraft, it’s one of my favorite because of its great handling, it’s fine where it sits.
this might be the first time ever this is being said, but “german tax” lol
Spoiler
/s just to be sure.
yeah but thats not the point, the issue they are 100% identical to the french one but at a higher BR so either put the french one to 13.0 aswell or put the UHT to 12.3
Oh yeah the French one for sure should also be moved to 13.0
Alright then, just making sure I honestly dont mind either option i just think they shouldnt be different BRs
its fine where it sits? When AH-64E or Mi-28NM shot their fire-and-forget msl to u, what can u do——you have no gun, and u msl cant shot them(they have DIRCM)
Not every vehicle will be the same and you’re looking at it the wrong way, it doesn’t need DIRCM to be 13.0
Which way then? One of them has 8 agms with 8 km range of which it sometimes takes 4 to take out a single pantsir. Those do not loft properly, dont have IOG and most times it takes 2 or more of them on a mbt for a kill. It has no gun and is basically defenceless vs planes. (it also cant target the other helis of its br with its ir missiles since those have lirdcm so you cant get a lock and this also spoofs its f&f agms. so defenceless vs air, and questionable efficiency vs ground unless being left completely unchallenged) also it has no radar (which in itself has up- and downsides but its usage would be optional)
The others have: either twice the missiles, with double the range, with lofting, higher explosive filler and iog (they will hit in smoke or reaquire targets that move through smoke), the agms of the one with same agm amount (8) are 9 out of 10 times a kill on any ground target if they hit (so basically one missile per mbt/spaa/light tank=certain kill unless it misses),they both have a gun and are basically (unless luckily targeted from a blind spot) safe from ir missiles and lots of fire and forget ordinance as well as their own agms. Oh and they have a gun for self defence. In case of one of them the gun somehow is a up to 3 or 4 km laser with barely any bullet drop, insane accuracy and muzzle velocity and most of the times onetaps anything that flies. both have air to ground, air to air and mit radar (that even lets you select moving targets that your gunsight will center on, not that useful, but again, usage is optional to stay sneaky)
Now that i didnt name those different vehicles, lets play a game and you can maybe guess which is which?
I can only speak from personal experience with the vehicle and there’s no issues, these helicopter don’t usually last that long anyway and if they do they can land and rearm their weapons on the helipad.
ofc, fair enough. let me tell you i played the majority of helis in game extensively, and the uht was and still is one of my favorites. it can be very strong but it has glaring and very obvious weaknesses. The mi28nm, the ah64e and the z-10me are leagues better than it. not sure what those weaknesses would be…
Rearming is ofc an option. it takes ridculous little time (10 seconds in my aced uht…why-i dont know, to make ground gameplay more annoying?) BUT being close, at or around the helipad is a big risk if theres fast movers up, because, guess where they will be looking first. What are you going to do in the uht when jets are aware of you being a threat to their ground units in a suitable open map where a uht pops up frequently in the killfeed? your best bet is they somehow dont see you, fly past and then somehow fail to dodge a 12 g stinger from behind because in any other aspect theres nothing u can and will do. You will need to get very lucky and they need to be quite unaware for you to survive a plane wanting u ded. If its a eurofighter with brimstones…just j out.
A jet without suitable ordinance (lets be real, only brimstones are really suitable) that isnt entirely sure of the location of a mi28nm at/around its helipad or in general trying to deal with it is also putting itself in serious danger. Not to mention that on some maps the second helipad is so close to the airfield and so close to the ground combat zone, that with the insane ranges of the jagms and lmurs you can basically sit in airfield aa cover while still firing at ground targets (ofc longer flight time, target is more likely to get to cover/close to dead tanks/ smoke and agms are more prone to being intercepted, but you get full aa coverage…wtf
With stock wired missiles it belongs to 9.0 BR
AH-1S would like to have a word with you.
Anyways hots are amazing.
It’s so weird the helis with only 8 medium range FNF and no LDIRCM are at the exact same br as as long range ldircm helis
French Tiger HAC is a German Tiger UHT, which was lend for evaluation and after that given back to Germany. Its identical. The Trigats are also identical to Pars ATGMs. Since its an open system, France put their own AA missiles on it (Mistral instead of Stingers). Mistrals are better than Stingers, you can even say the french Tiger UHT is better than the German one. Still, Gajin decided to make it BR 12.3, while the UHT from Germany is 13.0.
Its just crazy.
