Well, it should be able to supercruise at Mach 1.5 with a full combat load, but the devs consider this a marketing lie despite primary sources against this. So thats fun.
A lot of FM related bug reports were held off in the dev server because they asked us to until live due to how much of a WIP it was. but fully expecting a LOT of reports in the next few weeks for it
How you or I feel about the jet is not relevant. Only that it is accurate ( as far as we know)
Its actually currently slightly overweight and slightly underpowered engine wise, lol
Yeah, unfortunately its probably a case of “It can be done, just has never been publicly done during peace time and any documentation for it isnt available to the public”
Happens quite a bit with loadout options. Like the wing mounted GBU-24s on the Tornado or BOL with the twin rails on the SHar, no reason why it couldnt be done, it just never was for various reasons.
Even when pilots are saying it’s 8 missiles only, I doubt they’re under NDA for missile count, and they’re easily told how many missiles their aircraft can hold.
Granted, pilot testimony can’t and shouldn’t be used regardless.
So we stick with available documentation and photos.
Again, not that surprised by this, if the best missile in the RAF Arsenal for SRAAM was the Aim-9M, im sure the Typhoon would have 8+ AMRAAM, but given its standard SRAAM is the ASRAAM or IRIS-T, having a load of those is likely far more valuable in an actual fight than more AMRAAM/Meteor. At least during peace time.
A lot of things change really fast in war.
For example, (this comes from a book called Typhoon by Mike Sutton) normally new weapons, clearances and capabilities take YEARS to work their way through all the paper work and testing etc (at least in the RAF / MoD) . But when Typhoons deployed on OP Shader, it skipped all that and new kit was brought online in the field within a week (the pilots loved it apparently because they didnt have to deal with all the normal paper work, they could just crack on) Something similar happened with the SHars deploying to the Falklands.
Dude thinks the Su-27 should be out-dogfighting Rafale and Typhoon… cute.
Su-27SM is a competitor, it times to climb the same as F-15C.
Its radar is good despite the lack of narrow band.
Good weapons, RWR, and countermeasure count.
Nobody said that, you’re the one putting words in peoples mouths.
The flanker and fulcrum are both underperforming by a ton in war thunder. Nobody said they should be able to “outdogfight” a typhoon, however they should stand a match against something like an f16, because they literally were designed to, and the manuals support this.
@LeeyLeey
At no point did I ever claim he said anything. I challenged his statement with my own.
Su-27s are not underperforming at all in WT anymore. Mig-29s are not under-performing to our knowledge.
Also Su-27s do out-dogfight F-16s in War Thunder currently.
It’s okay that you’re a furry BTW.
Su-27SM is running over 20 degrees per second sustained.
Which is pretty much a Rafale right now.
Both on the dassaut website and on dassaut’s twitter it has already been said that the rafale’s hardpoints are completely modular, that it can carry ANY weapons on them, with 5 of these hp being able to carry heavy weapons and drop tanks, there is no structural or structural restrictions. software that restricts the Rafale to 6 missiles, even the Rafale A prototype carried missiles in the fuselage.
At this year’s Euronaval (2024) a model of the Rafale M was shown carrying an insane loadout of missiles.
The Rafale F3’s on-board computer shows 14 dots in the armament swit.
Gaijin simply ignores all the evidence that has already been shown (that is not convidential or militaryleaks )… devs/moderators refuse all accumulated material that a “civilian can access”.
This type of stance on the part of the company even encourages leaks.
8 micas or 6 micas+2magic won’t break the game, this loadout already exists in the game, In the future we may even see 10 to 12 missiles in the latest Rafale model, but currently we are only asking for 8 A2A missiles.
The plane doesn’t have a SPECTRA system as it should be, it doesn’t have a functional AESA radar, it doesn’t have smart countermeasures, and I understand why this isn’t coming into the game now, but 8 missiles, being micas, which is a missile of extremely limited range and outside the meta, it is a matter of necessity for rafale.
The AESA radar and the 8 missiles should be on this plane by now…This would make the plane more competitive in relation to the EF.
Ironically both the Typhoon and Rafale are underperforming at the moment.
People are too focused on the weaponry loadouts that Gaijin yet again are using as balancing devices. A properly modelled Typhoon and/or Rafale with it’s full theoretical missile loadout would be too much.
