There’s a reason I have a 3:1 KDR in my Conq, and that’s because I used APCR in Pershing exclusively and learned where all the ammo is in every tank.

It seems to me that the root problem with the Conqueror’s A.P.D.S. round is its unreliability; - and the consequent lack of confidence, predictability (and fun) experienced when adopting its playstyle.
As we know, in War Thunder, using British guns tends require greater aiming precision (ammo shots, breach shots, crew sniping, etc.) due to the lack of explosive filler; often requiring an additional shot to get the job done.
With ‘The Conq.’, this is doubly problematic because the first shot, and any follow-up shot(s), will sometimes do little actual harm…and then you have the prospect of a long reload (while your target repairs their gun breach in less time!!!).
I would suggest that Gaijin improve the reliability of the A.P.D.S. round first - to give the player more confidence in the tank - and then see if an improvement in reload rate is still required*. If the Real Shatter mechanic is the main problem, then perhaps it should just be removed - as others have suggested.
*If the reload was reduced, I would suggest only a very small change; to avoid upsetting the balance against other vehicles.
