The British conquer has a lot going for it at the moment, like the heat resistant armor, stabilizer and the decent mobility, but unlike the other monster heavy tanks at this BR it’s gun is… Well just kinda crap, and Gaijin have shown that reloads are the one thing that they’re flexible with when it comes to tank balancing so that’s the change I propose.
[should the conquers reload be buffed? and now much?]
Honestly several of the 7.7 heavy tanks could do with a reload buff. The M103 and T32s both could easily lose a couple seconds without being overpowered as well. Not as well versed in the Russian ones to know though, but I bet they probably could too.
Technically yes, if you’re only counting raw penetration. However the shell has a tendency to get easy screwed over by volumetric and to shatter on angles. I feel like the reload speed could be moved down by 2-5 seconds.
Shell shattering can actually sometimes not be chalked up to a skill issue. The speed of the tank the way they are turned (1 or 2 degrees can make a huge difference) are all factors that a regular player can’t memorize. I don’t think it’ll hurt to buff the reload speed by 2-5 seconds. It won’t become some broken vehicle that one shots everything.
Not even close, the MAUS takes that with with it’s extremely high pen round with 700 grams of explosive mas.
There isn’t a single thing in the game that has 1 massive plate of raw 500mms of flat armor, which is the only thing the conquers gun is good at getting through, it’s other attributes are basically that of a worse L7
The shell on paper is very very good but in reality it shatters all the damn time and creates no spalling. I have a better time with 20pdr APDS quite often
A mistype occurred.
As for no spalling, people need to learn not to rely on spalling for damage.
As you can see it’s the difference between a 3:1 KDR and one that isn’t.
My average heavy tank KDR sits around 2:1.
I’m more than willing to give advice on low-spalling munition, but for those wanting to stay reliant on spalling I’ll just say this:
Stop playing ever vehicle that uses HEAT, APDS, early APFSDS, and APCR if you really care that much. No one’s forcing you to learn new playstyles.
If there’s a spalling issue with ammo, at some point there will be better spalling.
Spalling will hopefully improve on early APDS one day, its only an issue on first gen apds which isn’t used by the Russians and Germans at all so it doesn’t get as much attention as it should.
same reason to why hesh is in a worthless state. the main guys don’t use it
The problem isn’t that the rounds have low spall, it’s that everything else doesn’t.
I have played 3 times more games than you with the conquer and it’s one of my favourite tanks, but that doesn’t mean it’s good and even if it is good it’s still the worst out of the 3 main 7.7 heavies.
You pulled that number out of no-where, it’s not even close to being accurate.
The problem with this round is something is says it can pen in the protection analysis isn’t always right and the sharp drop off of penetration past 30 degrees is the usually the reason, that coupled with the fact it has bad dispersion means you could hit a fender or spare track due to RNG then non pen and you need to wait 15 seconds to fire again
Amount of games in a singular vehicle doesn’t matter as much as hours played.
As someone found out the hard way after making that claim, I checked their thunderskill, and for every 1 battle of mine they did 2.5 battles. Don’t make me do the same with you.
My matches last a LONG time.
Also Conq is the best of the 7.7 heavies.
Oh look, 278mm of penetration [139/cos 60]
Keep claiming that the video game of War Thunder is lying to everyone.
