Somebody sold him an Austin Allegro and told him it’s a classic : )
british tanks got most things right, its just the one detail they didn’t was catastrophic. Churchill was a good infantry tank but hopeless against tanks
nah hes driving a Corsa B thinking it is the pinnacle of britbongery
Well its American built, But with entirely British Engineering.
Lincoln LS, a 300hp Jaguar with a American body.
Id have bought a full on Jag, But this thing was $1000 and i love it with every fibre of my being.
Hey, if it was introduced earlier, the 6 pounder might not have been the worst thing on the planet. The churchills are my favourite series of tanks of the time, but they weren’t exactly good at doing anything but getting shot at and climbing hills. Britain’s come a long way since the stuff they’ve put out in that era to having some of the more effective heavy armour of the competition tho.
Jags were ford then anyway : )
Centurion killed the Black Prince. That might be a tank to fanboy over.
If you keep encouraging the yank to pick up the shovel, I doubt we’ll ever see them through the hole they dig for themself.
Centurion is a cool platform, aye. But it doesn’t have the look of a chonk tank. Churchill does.
If only that look came with a cannon.
maybe he will find an actually british car if he digs hard enough, I hope its a belmont to prove a point
Most of the Ford Jags rotted under the sills like good old UK cars of old and the diesels were terrible. V6 Petrol was OK .
Its no surprise we lost our car industry.A bit off topic mind.
What we do well is invent tech.LED,NVG,Radar etc etc then we give it away to the Yanks lol .The UK invented so much that every other nation claim. We had the RSRE works near where I live now and we invented so much there after WW2. It became Connetic once they privatized it. Its a housing estate now…
They did Chobham armour etc
Eh, armour of the Brits at present is amongst the best in the world if not the best. Specifically chally is one the best for doctrine designs, and one of the most survivable for the crew. You lot did eventually work out what you were doing. Only took the better part of a century.
AJAX might be good, if incredibly overpriced.
Does the “yall” include me?
Just in case, the BP is my most played vehicle… :)
Quite inaccurate and bloody inconsistent output. That shot is rather a lottery…
Everything was obsolete as soon as A41 rolled out of the factory it was built in at Woolwich Arsenal in 1944. when I say everything was I mean it
That NA thing is a beast, the one with the Sherman gun.Had some right laughs in that thing.4.3 it’s a killer in built up areas
if its a lottery it feels like im the only guy in the raffle, I’ve played a lot of battles with 17pdr APDS and it feels bloody good
Suppose 41 is also an example of you lot working out how to do things. But then you lot went and built the chieftain, so who knows what was going on with the British engineering teams. Chieftain had some good bits but also some really really not good bits, more close to the issues cropping up with designs prior to cent.
i will not take the chieftain slander. the L60 engine was the only bad thing and that’s because it was British Leyland built. Rolls Royce got hold of the engine and made it as reliable as everyone else.
chieftain had everything the Americans had but with a better gun
To be fair, being better doesn’t mean shit if you’re can’t reach where you’re better at. Chieftain had some good stuff, but being so awfully sluggish really screwed it.
Keep in mind, I do like the Chieftain. But it really was let down in a way that kinda brings down the system.
Cost and bullshit is what cost the Brits in military tech.Getting a contract is not about how good the kit is it’s about who went to Eton with who and whether you played Rugby for Ox-bridge
Oddly enough it was the same nepotism that stopped the Germans getting a nice T34 copy and taking the Panther.Even as the Russians were pounding on the door greed and the old school tie was making decisions for the Nazi’s.
