The Bigger Picture?

What if and this is a stretch but, If we were going to a road of total war hear me out. A new mode “conflict”. Where all current vehicles are in it. from the PT Boats to the Aircraft. We have a lot of maps with water in them or they are along a coast line. So Ships aren’t a stretch. Points across the battle field and support for all. The Battleships could support tanks and the aircraft support everything tanks and ships. the next steps would be to work on Navy and bring in more up to date ships. Giving things a huge turn in the wake. Infantry is a step as you have tight city style play and needing boots on the ground to help secure a point or set mines to keep tanks at bay. Would it require an over haul of some of their servers yes but it could be a turning point for the game? Just a thought.

It has been often suggested/requested.

Last thing ground needs is cruisers and battleships shelling their spawn.

For your consideration:

Agreed, however it would be good to set up so that if the enemy team was camping your spawn with tanks you could defend with a battleship or artillery. However with buildings in the way it would make it more difficult.

German battleship Schleswig-Holstein started WW2 by shelling Danzig, Poland from where it was moored in the city the previous night. It was very ineffective beyond a couple of city blocks, because of the rubble blocking sight lines. Ships would need to be far out to make use of their arc and by then, tanks become fairly hard to pinpoint.

And with how WT models armor getting within 3-5km of a tank in order to shell it with decent accuracy and low ballistic flight time is a risky gambit. A ship is usually a far larger and easier to hit target for a tank, not to mention that most tanks have the fire rate, agility, and accuracy to put the hurt on a ship before a ship’s main guns hit where said tank used to be sitting.

Volume of fire on the larger ships does help with that though. On the late war ships, the secondary’s themselves are more deadly than the primaries when it comes to this type of situation.

Sure, on one tank per volley. Have two or five spread over a couple km, and suddenly there’s withering damage coming in from several bearings. You might pop one or two, but you’ll be listing hard and irreparably burning in short order.

I find it hard to imagine a tank with a single 90mm with like 180mm max pen at 0m being able to do much to a heavy cruiser 5km out.

Yeah. Battleship spamming out 12+ 152mm HE round every 5 seconds would certainly cause chaos on the ground

Tanks would have to target the ship weapons themselves as as chemical weapons are not going to pen more than the outer layer of steel on the hulls. Even with Kinetic rounds, you’re basically poking such tiny holes in a much larger volume of space.

Imagine a proper PvE mode for Naval + Air: big map where all types of vessels and aircrafts follow their objectives - mine clearing, sub chasing, costal bombardment, air recon…

Better self pleasuring material than senrai gals

It makes sense to go this route as we have many nations with Anti-Ship missiles now with barely any maps that offer even a single naval target.

Yeah, large scale tank/plane or naval/plane can work.

But naval/tank just doesnt work.
