the Squadron F-16A OCU sits at what I believe is too low of a BR, 12.7.
My issue with this is that the inferior (for air realistic) F-16A in the tech tree (Lack of Matra R550 Magic 2 missiles) sits at 13.0.
Why should an F-16 equipped with 6 strong IRCCM missiles sit at 12.7?
The Netz sits at 12.7 opposed to 12.3 due to the Python 3, which is barely a sidegrade to the 9L.
at the same BR, in the same tech tree is the Mirage 2000C-S5, which has
A headon radar
Inferior flight model
inferior guns
4 missiles, 2 average SARH and 2 Magic 2s (of which the F-16A OCU can carry up to 4, alongside 2 AIM-9Ms)
and is widely regarded as a strong jet for 12.7…
I simply can’t find a logical reason why the F-16A OCU sits at 12.7

I bought it this morning.
The first two matches were fine, down-tier matches at 11.7, the plane is ridiculously overpowered in 11.7. After that, I’ve only been gotten up-tiers to 13.7.
There is absolutely NOTHING you can do against 13.7 planes.
You only have 60 countermeasures and IR missiles with IRCCM against planes like Su-27SM, J-10, F-15JM just to name a few, 8+ FOX-3 missiles per plane with HMS, they can just push you with radar missiles with no way to counter it. (You start with x2 AIM-9L stock btw).
It definitely cannot go down in BR, but it cannot go up either.

I saw it and I genuinely went into a full crash out because a lot of 12.7 planes that should have IRCCM missiles don’t (Mig 29, F16AJ, Etc)

Not in this account, it is also really bad, but at least it has the countermeasures pods
It also has the worst KD of all the F-16 in game (Netz Mod doesnt counts since its premium)
I agree that the BR it is at is not okay, but if it goes up, it gets annihilated by 13.7, and i wont even think of going down bc there is no way this thing can be lower.
Importantly, I’m wondering about sim. 6 9ms, missiles that are almost impossible to spot at (12.7 -11.7)? This thing will be literally unkillable. I’m fine with 12.7 in RB. but sim? Its broken

Jokes aside in terms of missiles its closer to Gripen A and the belgian F-16A than it is to Netz.
Sure it cant BVR but its still F-16 with up to 6x IRCCMs.
That’s the 13.0 F-16A experience which is a bit worse than the OCU, but if it was also 12.7 it would be unfair for the 12.7s and below
I had some GE saved from tournaments, i have nothing else to spend them on

Absolutely, thats what i am saying, they should decompress a lot, or maybe adjust the BR range to ±0.7.

You can’t bring missiles in the countermeasure pylons like the gripen can for example, it’s a bad trade-off

Still, when compared to Netz or even the US F-16A its miles better than either of those in terms of missile armaments.

Now that the F-16 has single drop countermeasures, I wouldnt bring any extra CM pod at the cost of a missile or two.
When it was double drop I used 5 Aim9M and a empty pylon with a CM pod for extra 90 countermeasures. I played for a bit but it was one of the worst experience I had in modern jets. Even though it is trash at 13.0 it can’t go down because of BR compression, since at 12.7 it would be OP and ruin the matchmaker for more planes
