The Balance and BR compression of 12.7

At the current state of the BR bracket of 12.3-13.3, BR compression makes anything below 13.0 essentially unplayable, and causes other 13.3 aircraft to suffer. A prime example of this is the F/A-18 Hornets at 12.7/3, which feature SARH missiles, AIM-9Ls, and a mediorcre radar/RWR package. These aircraft are in constant, as in almost every game, uptiers to 13.3, where the SU-30MK2 and MKK are rampant, featuring more missiles, more countermeasures, a better radar, a better RWR, ARH missiles and IRCCM. This means that these 12.7 vehicles in permanent uptiers cant fight against them, as taking manuvers such as notching is impossible if you want to launch a missile at them, while they can launch an ARH missile, and then notch with more countermeasures. Its not just 12.7 aircraft that suffer, however, as other aircraft such as the MiG-29 SMT (9-19) suffer greatly, as they feature less missiles, and a worse RWR, meaning that at BRs where BVR combat means that a good RWR is essential, are incredibly poor in performance. I understand that fewer BRs allow quicker loading times, but that doesnt matter if 9/10 times you are being killed by an opponent you cannot see, and sometimes even hear. Decompress the BRs in order to make 12.3/7 playable, and then maybe your player count might go back up from the 30K player dip since these aircraft were added.

lmao. what is probably THE best mechanical radar for its BR with some nice RWR coverage ISNT mediocre.

Tbh I really don’t like it because of how slow it is compared to APG-63 or even APG-66

Which one tho? There are three different APG-63 radars in game with different scan speeds.

again, which one?

Any of them

well, no, you cant say that. they are different. but since i said β€œfor its BR” i assume you meant the 12.7 F-15A and J, Baz, and the F-16J.

So going by the datamined radar sheet…

The biggest difference being that none of the F-15s have TWS nor NCTR, neither does F-16J.

And when it comes to scan speed (for simplicity of argument, lets go with medium scope)
AN/APG-63 PSP (F-15A, F-15J) - 3.4s per bar, 4 bars
AN/APG-65 (F/A-18C early) - 2.4s per bar, 4 bars
AN/APG-66(V)1 (F-16J) - 1.5s per bar, 2 bars

cant match the Baz radar to specific radar in datasheet but i assume its the same as the other two F-15s as it has none of the advanced featerues listed with other AN/APG-63s.

So sure, F-16J radar might be faster, but 2.4s isnt slow either and i get NCTR and TWS on top of that. F-15s are slower no matter how you slice it.
