you can clearly see the trail is much shorter for mica and it’s less thick.

Mica literally gets a low smoke motor dude.

All AMRAAM use reduced smoke motors, and the AIM-9M motor has too little smoke in usual conditions. None of it is remotely correct.

MICA does have reduced smoke vs all other fox 3’s, just like its also the only top tier fox 3 with an improved seeker. Gaijin has a demonstrably clear bias towards the Rafale and its weapons.
If I had known the seeker was only a mockup, I wouldn’t have posted it.

Yes i know i said that i checked and thats why i told you they are the same. Its not the smoke class that actually gives you reduced smoke. Back when this was first released i looked them up in renderdoc (big and medium since they looked the same in game) and they were the same.
So i loaded it up in renderdoc again (used 9L since it has same mediumlength_med as mica, hell most SRAAM do and i dont have to make custom model to get both on single plane)
I fail to see any difference (except slightly different “loiter” time as you mentioned) which in general is irrelevant at hit ranges that you’d see smoke (and with radar missiles you get radar warning so you respond to them faster). It might be different if get mica ir
For actually reduced smoke the classes are: small and tiny (like 9M) and transparent (used for second stages on cruise missiles)

By definition, the MICA having a smaller (even if its minor) smoke trail that doesnt last as long (as seen in the clips above by @kizvy) than all other top tier fox 3’s is “reduced” smoke. I do however agree that its not the same as the “smokeless” 9M

But speaking of 120s, today i got back into regular ARB after resting a bit from Nuclear Thunder and either people dumbed down or snail blessed my server connection because i had a pretty good time in Giggle, 120s worked more often than they didn’t (including 2 teamkills that i sincerely apologise for)

Well, one was Su-30 that killed F-15 that i already fired at and then, for some ungodly reason decided to get near that F-15 wreackage. Other was a Hornet that i didn’t see because for some reason his name wasn’t rendered while Su-30 that i fired at was. But i should’ve pay more attention nonetheless and avoid firing in such conditions. Other than that i had a cool joust aganst eurofighter, i notched like 6 of his missiles (F-15C on 1 minute of fuel) but i only had 3 or 4 AMRUM left so my teammate cleaned this one

I know, he was asking if more advanced AMRAAM does also have that feature.
The thing is under certain conditions they still leave quite visible trail depending on altitude and temperature.
