Team killing policy - follow up thread

I just got banned for one hour after I shot down a team mate after he very much intentionally rammed me after take off and damaged my whole fuselage, no I’m not sorry and never will be.

It is part of the ban wave, i also am sitting on an hours ban but havent played Air rb in a few days so i guess it tallys up between a period and if you have X amount of team kills then it hits you with the relevant amount of ban time.

I see, interesting

Im also sitting on a week of ban, got it at the moment, but respect for gaijin i can still use WT mobile to keep my login reward active at least I don’t loose it, so i don’t need to start from 0 when i got unbanned, but the funniest was that, when I was on my last match before got teamkilled by a Su-27 and when i went back to the lobby like a few sec after got the one week ban from the game, at least now i have a ton of free time and now i can touch the grass again :P.

I prefer the idea of a permanent or 1 year “Dunce” title and a brown team tag to remind everyone you are dookey 😁

So with this can we reintroduce friendly fire in ground ? Considering something actually being done about people who purposely committing team killing. Might as well bring that back

That would cause too many issues, I don’t want to die/kill someone just because they happened to drive infront of a bullet.

Maybe that would force them to not rush in front of you next time , those cases are not that hard to differentiate from purposely team killing anyway. Ground player tend to not care about their teammate might as well force them to look before they go

It will just cause more issues than it fixes in my opinion.

Fair , you do have a point , I still think it is still possible to bring back but aight

Thing is,

3D movement/positioning in air kind of require punishing ramming and shooting blindly to give some chance for the target - the ability to hit teammates puts a maximum on the amount of planes able to chase a single target and prevents them from spraying blindly. While it’s your fault you got in a position with multiple enemies on your six - this does opens an avenue to use enemies as cover to try and even the odds.

I think the recent TK banwave did make a big mistake in not differentiating intentional airfield kills and furball kills. I do think furball kills should be punished - but silver lions covers them sufficiently alongside the kicks. Airfield TKs (and teamkills without any enemies within ~5.0 km or so of either party) should be prosecuted at the fullest extent though.

On ground though, I cannot think of many situations where enabling teamkilling would provide much of a gameplay mechanic/technique you can exploit beyond disguising as an enemy tank ala ersatz panther to increase time to confirm… which already exists in sim in lieu of nametags.

I know , it is not perfect but at least it is something. Hope they will improve it even further and maybe we will be able to have ground friendly fire back , who know

so here is the problem with this, i have been regularly playing the PE-8, and its KINDA HARD TO NOT HIT ALLIES WHEN YOU HAVE A BIG ASS BOMB

lol IR misses launched at enemy, friendly flies in front of you, your IR missile: ha-ha time to give this guy a ban

this is gajins fuck up and they need to fix it. im tired of supporting their game just to be treated like I dont matter

even so, ACCIDENTS HAPPEN. especially when you have crappy ir missles and big bombs that blow up a whole grid zone.

Drop the bomb back further

the most unintelligent change ever made in this game

That happens in air rb all too often, i dont see why re adding friendly fire to ground rb would be a big issue.

Not to mention people exploit the friendly fire mechanic in CAS to target teammates that they got mad at. Or tanks exploiting it to shoot down helos.

We should either add friendly fire to tanks or remove friendly fire from every gamemode that isnt sim.

Its actually insanely easy to not kill teammates.

Go to the bombs statcard, look at destruction of armored vehicles radius-any allies in that radius will die.

Next look at the radius of fragments- any open top and light allies will die within that radius.

Next use more than a few braincells and look at where your teammates are and where they might be in 20 seconds. If your teammates are rapidly closing in on the cap point your planning on bombing then maybe just maybe DONT drop the bomb.
