Talisman, which way young man - UK and USSR Rank VII

Hello,

So I want to grind out USSR toptier aircraft and UK. I have no prems at this BR so I want to talisman some TT planes from rank VII.

Which ones should I go for?

I was thinking Mig 21 SMT and one of the spey Phantoms. But I am open to suggestions

Spey Phantoms arent worth it at the moment.

They are woefully undergunned for 12.0 with the current compression. (skyflash DFs are equivalent to Aim-7E-2s and so lacks the Aim-7F (or equivalent) of everything else at the at BR

If you are after a fighter, Id go for the Tonka F3. Far stronger

If you want a base bomber. Id go for the Tonka GR4.

I actually don`t have any rank VIII unlocked. I am trying to get to it hence this question.
Bison is pricey (and a MiG being the best brit is… laughable). I was going for either one of the phantoms, bucanner or the sea harrier as these are the ones I have unlocked so far.

I am still behind on F111 and the Jaguar 10.7

So you want a solid Rank 7 option to stick a Talisman on…

Buc can be fun, but a tad on the underpowered side in ARB at the moment. Difficult to actually do much in the way of base bomb as a subsonic at that BR

FRS1e is okay, but again. Has some issues currently, not the strongest of dogfighters and the Harriers have issues

If it wasnt for the sale. Id suggest waiting and maybe sticking one on the Hawk 200. That should be quite solid, but out of the current options…

I would say F-111C but you havent got it unlocked yet.

Phantom might have to be it. Just be warned, in A2A its underpowered and the uptiers suck, like really bad, but you are decently quick and can probably base bomb okay.

Yes, indeed. I know its a horrible rank but hey, I was here before hispanos did damage and before AP buffs to the ground vehicles. I can manage SOME degree of crap.

I am coming back after like a 2-3 year hiatus from the game hence those questions. I remember FGR2 being good once it got PD. Or how it bombed bases to oblivion.

I am off F111C by 260k RP so I have a chance to still get it :) If not, FGR2 it is I guess.

See, with UK its a problem, with USSR I just diceroll between MiG21 SMT or MiG 23MLD and call it a day. UK is a different beast…

And yes, the question is sale motivated. I have me 3000GE so :)

The issue with the FGR2 these days, is that it has weaker SARH missiles than all other 12.0s and the 12.0-13.0 is a complete mess. Could easily be decompressed to 12.0-13.7, maybe more.

Combine with the fact it needs to run unguided bombs instead of napalm like the other Phantoms… Its on the fence.

Does get some strengths like the better engines and slightly more CMs… but has its issues.

There are reports though for it to get buffs, so you never know.

F-111C is stronger because its at that 11.7 BR, which is a bit of muddy area for mud movers because there is sooooo many, but otherwise, its okay. Though do take that with a pinch of salt, because i only played it on the dev servers and seen it in combat, but I havent actually played it in live matches at the moment.

Rank 8 though is very solid for Britain these days for the most part

The Buccaneer S2B can work but it’s extremely inconsistent, a lot of the time you will skirt the side of the map just for no bases to be left or the game is over before you get to one. Flying through the middle is just suicide.

Bong Phantoms I couldn’t recommend atm, if you don’t get swatted by F/A-18s you’ll be getting swatted by Flankers. If by some miracle you get downtiered you’ll still be contending with F-4S’ which are you but better in every way that matters.

  • Jaguar GR.1A is buns
  • Haven’t played the Sea Harriers, I’ve used the Thai AV-8S which is more or less the same plane and all it does is backstab with 9Ls.
  • Tornado GR.1 I’d say is viable, it’s a bomb truck but unlike the Bucc it can launch itself into space and drop 9Ls on unsuspecting enemies from above.
  • F-111C is the Tornado GR.1 but better, it’s best mixed loadout comes stock too. It’s probably the best option rn for a Rank VII UK Talisman. But if you’re strapped for time the Tornado will work fine.

Can’t comment really on USSR, but of the two options you gave I’d go with the 21SMT. Nothing wrong with the 23MLD, just that you’ll be teamed with Premium 23MLs that insist only on napalm bombing.

Unfortunately the GR1 is after the F-111C

but I do agree with your assessment of all vehicles.

Yeah, no reason not grab the F-111 Tali if you can. As much as I love the buccaneer, recommending it is potential sabotage.

For ARB, yeah… ASB? Its actually quite fun.

I should probably actually buy the F-111C at some point.

I played it on the dev server and it was quite fun. But im kinda mixed on it for ASB compared to the GR1. Though it gets a lower BR which is kinda BS

I had a better time in the F-111 than the Tornado GR.1 which is why I genuinely thought it was after it.

GR1 is… wierd… At 11.3 with the correct engines it would be fine, but at 11.7 with the wrong engines…

Just isnt worth it. I usually play the GR4

AIM-9Ms with HMS, MAWS, billions of countermeasures all at 12.3, illegal amounts of fun for an attack plane at this BR. I doubt OP can grind through 3 planes to get it in time though.

Lads, I am all for doing my thing in AirRB. I arcade and sim… tried both but couldnt get into it.
I might be able to get the f111 (I did grind obj268 etc back in Uni… what a time) but getting to Tornado is a stretch really.

Cant go wrong with 21bis for USSR. Now that it doesnt see F-16s (and Hornets), its mighty fun.

thye spey phantoms suck. honestly grinding the next tier from below is far more tolerable
