How did this aircraft end up in this situation???
It has 4 aim9-j´s and a 20mm m61.
You arent the fastest plane at the br you have no countermeasures and always at br 11.7.
Tldr you cant rlly take headons with most planes sinc they have all aspect missiles and the new spaa at the airfield is taking your 2nd possible way of killing enemies away. How is this 10.7 when there is the exact same plane in another tt at 10.3 with 2 extra missiles.
Thats exactly why then.
If there is a version near enough identical with 2x AIm-9Js at 10.3, then logically the version with 2 more Aim-9s would be 0.3 higher. Just like FRS1e to FRS1 for example.
The problem is compression and legacy BRs.
Compression I really shouldnt need to explain, but legacy BRs are where vehicle use to be good but then the meta shifted radically and now a previously very good aircraft is now very poor (Think Harrier GR1 dominance with the old bad SRAAMs and was shattered when people got flares and all-aspects)
So could they go lower? Maybe. The issue is 9.7s dealing with 10.7s like the F-104G are bad enough , let alone 10.3s. So a decompression is really needed before BR changes can be considered
funny part is the 10.3 version has 6 aim9p´s and the 10.7 version has 4 aim9j´s
Ah I see. I miss read what you said, then yeah, it could be 10.3.
would still be problematic but you atleast have no mig23 and btw the f104´s I want down can be easily shot down with missiles so 9.7 wouldnt struggle this much
and the argument is just bad when you compare mig15/f86 against me262´s and mig21spsk/t2 against all 8.7/9.0 stuff its just not the same
id argue that the 21 SMT/MF, the F8E, the J35XS are all better than the F104s and they are 10.3

Not even an argument tbh. Every single F-104 ingame rn is either unplayable or near unplayable.

yep and that is why I did this kind of rant thread so it gets attention.
its not like other starfighters have an easy time but this is just one of the worst starfighter placements…
most of the later 104 family are meme aircrafts
including italy 104G at 11.0 with only 2 AIM-9Js, 104ASA at 12.0 with RWR without direction and without PD radar…and this tw second-hand trash
