It physically can’t jam laser guided ATGMs like the ones on the BMP-2M. As for the TOW-2s, they have had jamming resistance implemented for years. However this is Gaijin, so I’m not excluding the possibility of TOW-2s being bugged.

Have you played the Challenger 2? Slowest of the top tier MBTs, acceleration might be okay but that doesn’t matter when you’re constantly looking at the rears of all the tanks on your team (Type 10s and Leo2s almost always beat light tanks to sniping positions)

I’ll take a minute to state how absolutely bullshit it is that I have to be forced to aim for the lower hull plate or a pixel sized weakspot on the driver’s hatch to pen a T-80/T-72/T-90 with my Challenger 2’s L27A1 rounds, because if I shoot at the upper hull plate it gets nullified by the magical properties of subpar soviet engineering when in real life we KNOW that the upper hull plate of those tanks cannot stop darts. Or the magical blackhole properties of Relict or Kontact 5 performing better in-game than they do IRL and Gaijin refusing to add the anti-ERA properties of some of the heavier penning darts at top tier. Meanwhile they can just shoot in my general direction and take out either my breach or my entire crew, no careful aiming needed. The only part of my turret that’s armoured are my turret cheeks.

Oh I forgot, most NATO tanks are missing Trunion armour so a penetrating shot to the breach takes out half of the turret crew but if you do the same to a T-series tank you only take out the breach.

A (stock) T-72B3 without UBH is barely 11.0 worthy, yet you’re claiming it’s equal to a M1A2 SEP, Strv 122A or Leopard 2A7HU??

This is the equivalent of claiming a Strv 121 or Leopard 2A4 should be 12.7.

Even with the UBH package, it’s still got extremely mediocre mobility, mediocre armour, awful survivability, sub-par firepower and average gun handling characteristics.

T-72B3 Arena is most definitely not better than the T-72B3.

the other guy also encounters the same amount of bullshit when his gun barely depresses, when his turret barely turns, or when he cant reverse into cover after a bad shot, or when his fuel explodes, or when he is constantly outreloaded by every tank at his br range… etc etc

yknow every vehicle has some kind of strong point and some kind of drawback?

I have been stock grinding/spading my base CR2 and CR3 TD for the last couple of weeks and I would play them over most T-series MBTs any day of the week.

Sorry but I don’t consider that when the majority of encounters I have are first shot encounters, and if I have to be forced to aim for his small lower hull plate which might be protected with ERA or the pixel sized driver’s hatch weakspot, vs when he can just one-shot kill me from the front and barely have to aim. On the rare chance that he makes a bad shot and somehow hits my turret cheek, then I know I have a chance. And ever since Carousels started absorbing darts like the magical ERA they have, not even a shot to the front might kill them anymore. Just last night I died to a T-80U, had the first shot, shot him in the lower hull plate, carousel eats my round, gets disabled, doesn’t even detonate any ammo, and his able to swing his turret over to me and kill me without having to aim. Why? Because the Challenger 2’s hull is one massive weakspot with a fat lower front plate that has a bullseye strapped to it saying “Shoot here for instant win”. Oh and don’t forget the massive driver’s hatch tunnel that gives you access to the turret interior with an easy shot, or the fact that CR2’s trunions aren’t modelled in so any penetrating shot through the gun housing instantly disables your breach and takes out two crew members.

Can you show some? Ill test myself at evening, but i do remember the TOW-2 being affected.

This is why some want to force player stats to be private.
Then they’d be able to freely spew total nonsense about how strong/weak some things are.

Even Drozd found at 11.7 on the T-80UM2 can be useful. Arena at 11.3 would be useful.

I disagree with that, tho i sold my UM-1 after trying the Drozd on T-55AMD.

T-80UM2 is my second most played vehicle


It used to be 11.3 though at 11.7 its APS can still stop hellfires, spikes, and pretty much any SACLOS IFV ATGM (such as from the Bradley /BMPT / BMP-2M) from what I remember.

I did number of matches with T-55AMD and it never caught even a MILAN rocket xD

MILAN goes 200m/s so it’s definitely within the 70m/s-700m/s range.

The Arena system in-game has the same vertical protection as Drozd (20 degrees) but it covers a whole 360 degrees instead of just 40 degrees.

Arena can also stop threats at ~1000m/s too and not just 700m/s.

I mean we’ll see but it’s definitely a useful APS at 11.0, or 11.3 if they decide to uptier it.
