With its BR, the T-34-85 is one of the worst tanks in game, just like the M4A3E8 (another brand of bad; bad gun), but I am not discussing it in this topic.
The T-34-85 is straight up slop. It’s one of the worst tanks in the BR bracket, and the fact that Gaijin lowered it to tier 3 (for Chinese versions) is a testimony to this fact, that it does not belong to tier 4 and BR changes should reflecft it.
List of problems that make the tank bad (from most to least severe)

Horrible gun depression
The T-34-85 has horrible gun depression, combined with its tall profile, means that it cannot take advantage of its bouncy turret armor in most places. -
Horrible armor
Recalling the above point, the T-34-85 armor is just horrible. If the T-34-85 had like -10 gun depression its armor would actually be OK if not good, but it has to expose its whole hull to engage the enemies. -
High profile
It’s a giant “shoot me” tank right here.
Back in my the day, the panzer IV H was 4.7, and T-34-85 was 5.7. Now, PzIv H was dropped to 3.7 while T-34-85 remained at 5.7. We can see that this is out of proportion and unreasonable.
The only good thing the T-34-85 has going for it is its nuke APHE shells, which admittedly is awesome, but it does not justify that high of a BR.
It also suffers from tanks with strong frontal armor, like the Ferdinand and other heavy tanks.
I am not saying it is inherently a bad tank, just mismatched for its BR.
