T-14 Armata mod 2021

see, thats the issue with russia. They always lie and exaggerate about the capabilities while nato under reports, which shows in game bc gaijin takes the “official” information at face value

you forgot germany…

they have to go hypotetical if they want a competitive vehicle, because if they dont do that what you get is a piece of crap. it wouldnt even be as good as t80bvm or t90m.

I refrained from mentioning too specifics in case people wanted to go off on me, but yea, it would be a piece of shit honestly lol.

I don’t think the Armata will be bad, it should have a much better dart rivaling that of M829A4, penetrator just slightly longer and ATGMs, UV missile warning system and the possibility of having a better reverse speeds.

issues is that we dont have clear info of both, so claiming it has a better dart when we dont have concrete info of the M829A4 and the vacuum 1 dosent even exist as there has been absolutely 0 info regarding this shell

Someone on here actually knows a lot about it, I’ll have to figure out who it is again.

the closest info i got on M829A4 was on bttr rather funny Below The Turret Ring: M829A3 APFSDS penetration power - common internet estimation failures?
but regarding the existance of vacum 1 or vacum 2 its doubtful due to the lack of an actual proper proof, either pictures, videos, or reports of tests whatsoever

What we don´t have is the basic info to calculate penetration (penetrator dimensions+velocity). But the program itself is very real and there are written sources about it.

well if u have data regarding it, u could share it and we could definitvely discuss some values of it

Well I did, when a patent drawing depicting the round was published I shared it in this very thread. It was months ago.

this one?

Playing devil’s advocate here, this is very much something russia would do. Personally I think that when the T-14 does come to WT it should be based on its “theoretical” specs - simply because arguing over these semantics is dumb, and it gives russia a vehicle that can compete with the really modern NATO stuff.

not really. neither the cannon its supposed to have nor the shell for the current cannon exist yet.

i mean that isnt the denial route, the denial route would be acting like a single picture from a very untrustworthy country proves anything regarding the argument being discussed.

and as i already state before in this thread the claims on the capabilities of the T14 protection are so absurd that unless they actively see combat or we see some proper testing footage they should be completely and utterly dismissed.

they claim to be able to spoof every guided munition with soft kill, and if that doesnt work that Aps can not only intercept Apfsds munition but it also every other guided munition(pretty good for an aps but nothing crazy, but im not done yet) the 50 cal on the roof? they claim its accurate enough to be used as an impromptu CIws, im not kidding.

to be fair the style from the engine is very unconventional in and on itself.

Yeah but the original post is a bit older. Bottom line is 775x25mm penetrator seems a very safe estimation (although it can be easily bigger than that) but we have nothing concrete on muzzle velocity yet.

Honestly measuring an apfsds based off what u can calculate in Photoshop using a drawing as base it’s extremely unreliable

What do you think the penetration values in War Thunder would look like?

Depends on what tanks other nations get. But around 850mm sounds right to me.
