I will buy a premium tank for grinding either Sweden or Germany top tier when sales hit. I grinded Us till 11.3 ground and half of the team being clickbait noobs was an awful experience. And I dont like soviet tanks because they dont fit my playstyle. So which one is better if we consider their ground low, mid, high, and CAS capabilities? Cas is not that important since im into tanks more.
Sweden low-mid BRs struggles with making lineups of more than 2 tanks, but once you reach 8.0 you get some very good tanks and very good lineups
Depends on the BR ranges you want to play sweden at 10.0+ is basically better Germany with worse CAS. 1.0-10.0 id say Germany is more enjoyable, id also say it depends on your playstyle Sweden is a sniper nation with no armor for most of the game until 12.0 but maybe thats your playstyle. Imo the 8.x range for both germany and sweden has a very unique set of vehicles i recommend to try.
Germany is very good
8.3 isn’t worth playing since the 551 is just a worse M113 chassis at a higher BR. 8.0 is better and without the chance to meet 9.3 T-72 with apds. Swedens lineups with actual vehicles is 8.0, 8.7, 10.3, 10.7, 12.0

I more meant there are basically no lineups before 8.0/8.3 but yeah the 8.3 tow launchers are very bad
I’d go with Italy atm tbh. Both Sweden and Germany are fine though. I’d say of the two, Sweden is slightly stronger at top tier due to the Ito, but weaker at the mid tiers. However, Sweden is also an easier grind.

One vehicle isnt worth uptiering an entire lineup especially when the 8.0 centurion and strv 103 are the only notable vehicles aside from the USH. The Veak also fails to be a useful spaa imo so if you enjoy watching jets fly away from all your shots then play it by all means. Additionally sweden lacks any actual fighters that are competitive for most ground battles but around the 8.7 range the Saab 105 is a potent CAS aircraft but fails to do anything else lest your opponent is a fungi.
I like to engage enemy in mid range and play fast. I like the XM800T most in Us tech tree.
Italy has a nice selection of light vehicles, including ones with spikes.

Germany for the most part is kinda slow. Heavy armored tanks with too few light tanks at mid tier. Sweden is just slow with no armor until about 8.7 where the Leo Marksman is essentially the best IFV (its an spaa but everyone uses it as a TD) on the lineup. For 8.0 the DF105 is the best light tank for mobility and close engagements between sweden and germany. For medium distance the IKV-91 has a LRF and worse mobility than the leo 1. Id say they are evenly matched depending on your playstyle and what maps the RNG gives you. For the 9.x area sweden gets the CV9030 FIN and the Strf 9040 which the 9030 has okay mobility but a worthless gun and cant cover its rear because of the crew sights. The 9040 is slow but its the fastest of the 9040’s think Bradley but faster and a more punchy gun but its limited by ammo in the autoloader. 24 rounds goes very fast. For Germany the Tam is imo a vehicle you’d love. At 9.0 its fast trolly and is a all around great vehicle for the BR. 9.3 has the Begleitpanzer. Swedish/Germany wonder weapon that everyone should play once if they grind germany. Its hard not too love. Even with the engine nerf its great. Punchy gun but it only has AP/solid shot for its AT rounds but it does have a huge autoloader with HE-VT and it has missiles which none of the Swedish IFV’s aside from the Mark IV [E] and the 9040 BILL 2 (Swedish Bradley but with a better gun, the top attacks feel the same to me but some people say the BILL is better. Regardless its good but the stabilizer stops working past 30km/h.) The Leo 2K at 10.0 for Germany is the definition of a workhorse, its imo the best Leo for its speed and unique attributes such as a 20mm cannon on the roof. The Rad 90 is also a must use as its one of if not the best off road light tank in warthunder and is great for sniping and getting to spots very early. Past 10.0 and into 10.x and 11.0 Germany has a bit weaker selection than sweden as they lack a TT 10.7 lineup since they get so many 10.x event vehicles instead. The Tam 2C is solid but i dont see them often. Leo 2A4 for both sweden and Germany are solid but sweden has 2 TT versions. Sweden has the Mark IV [E] at 10.7 which is fast but entirely worthless. No ability to track aircraft and the horrible 30mm gun but it has spikes which are good against helicopters. Germany also has the PUMA here whoch has a slightly better penning 30mm with actual “Armor” but its so poorly implemented i can recommend either of the PUMA’s nor the Mark IV on sweden. The leopards are the best vehicles in the game of which sweden has 3 of either the best or 2nd best leos. Depends on if you wsnt less pen and worse thermals for 100mm more frontal armor that wont allow you to die anyways even with 100mm less. But having 3 leos which are uparmored makes them very competitive. The Ito is also the best SPAA aside from the pantsir but is essentially unable to deal with aircraft that are more than 10km out so useless for the most part and Germany has the flakrakrad which is in such a poor state i wouldn’t recommend it. Both nations you’ll need their aircraft if you want to actually deal with enemy air. For the last light tank the CV90120-T pre 2006 model is fairly solid, 11.7 with 600mm pen and very good mobility and a 5 sec autoloader.
Imo id say if you want pure top tier go sweden as they have more mid range fighters available in the TT but all the 9040’s lack speed. They are slow and only the SPAA model has the ability to track aircraft.
For the low and mid tier Germany is going to be a lot more easy with vehicle heavy lineups and quite a few solid LT’s but they lack the number of vehicles that sweden does. I left a lot of vehicles out because i either forgot them or they aren’t worth mentioning. (Tried to avoid focusing on spaa and rather just pure tanks/ifv’s)
Its not awful. It arguably has the strongest top tier line-up in the game atm. It’s at least as good as Germany and Sweden- probably better because it has the Ito, Ef, and F-16s

No worries for germany being slow at the start. I want to experience iconic WW2 German stuff too. Forgot to add but mainly thats why I cant select which nation i want to grind. Both have ratty vehicles, top tier Sweden is arguably better because you have 3 2A7Vish mbts, a solid light tank and second best anti air after mighty Pantsir. I guess i will go with Germany. Has everything I wanted and i kinda dont care if its top tier is slightly worse than Sweden. Thanks for help m8
Np, honestly for the future Germany is also a safer option as Sweden essentially has no other MBT’s left for top tier at least within the next 10 years reasonably speaking (or aircraft that for the current meta for ground or air, sweden will just be worse going forward for air.) and the CV90s are riddled with problems. Germany will eventually (i beg snail pls) get their boxer IFV’s and skyrangers and we will see far more versatile top tier tanks for Germany.
I hope so. Other than these If they add Leo 2a8 beside 2a7v that will be crazy and there is hope for that.
Germany can get so many versions that are basically side grades to the 2A7V and the strv 122A, way more than sweden easily.
German tanks are some of the best in game. Tigers, and Panthers, and Leopards oh my! For majority of the game, you’re going to dominate if you’re a half decent player.
Sweden really isn’t that good until you get to top tier, and even then, it’s just Leopards. Terrible thermals, lackluster speed (because God forbid Gaijin actually makes NATO tanks correctly, not like they get access to the manuals or anything), and besides having a cosmetic armour package, they’re just Leopards. Not the best, just average.
You can play Sweden to be different like I did, or just play Germany, which Gaijin favours heavily.
Planes wise (I know you don’t care, but just in case), Germany feels underwhelming, but Sweden is worse. The only great things about the Swedish planes are the MiG 21bis and the JAS39s.
With Germany, you get most of the MiGs (MiG 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, and 29), Eurofighter, plus good strike aircrafts and air to ground armaments.
With Sweden, you are having to grind by fighting with the worst fighters in the game up until the JAS39A. The strike aircrafts mostly use rockets, no bombs, just rockets. If I remember correctly, the only jets that do get bombs are the Finnish Vampire, AJ and AJS, JAS39A and C, and the A29.
Germany is better all round. Sweden is just average at best.
