We can say that we play game differently and that is true, but what is also true that some people are what team requires in order to win and some are just a burden.
If someone is trying to say that he doesn’t need to kill in order to be useful for the team, he can be right. For light tanks, something like spotting is also a very usefull thing, but then there is a huge difference when it comes to at what B.R. he is playing.

If it is his downtier, then he as a best tank of the team, should be rather trying to destroy the targets as he is just the best vechicle (most capable of). Can’t think of a light tank which at a downtier (-1 B.R.) would not be very good when it comes to killing enemy targets.
-
If he is on Uptier and his gun doesn’t allow him to do much, then spotting is the best what he can do for the team, maybe flanking too if the said light tank has a good movement.
But in both of this scenarios, if a player refuses to kill and dies more than kills, he becomes a little burden for the team, as the enemy team gets more than it loses (when it comes to that particular player). Good that he spotted 3 players (which probably were seen by everyone really, as maps are made that way), but he has also given enemy team SP that allows it to bring better vechicles (air). Better for the team would be if he could take even one enemy out before dying.
And then it is just for light tanks really, their role is being broaden by the scouting mechanic. In this topic we were talking about something different.
When it comes to playing in a squad (because this is how I understand it, not gonna talk about SQB as I stopped playing it a long time ago), You really don’t care about anything than kills. I remember doing golden wagers where we were just driving thru the map and destroying anyone that was in our sight. For rest I have responded in above and below comment.
The best part is that I have never posted any of players stats here or said at what kind of stats I’m looking at. When it comes to KDR, the one who stated that, was the one who felt attacked because someone dared to look at his stats really. When it comes to SPAA I have already talked in different topics that it is hard to see if someone is doing well in SPAA because on the ground You also have tanks that You need to think about. (If You want to, I can dig it out). When I said that he needs to get better is because he lacks understanding of what mostly matters in game.
I will always defend the ‘KDR’ argument, as after 60k battles, I have known many players who tried to say that it doesn’t matter and that they are doing other things for the team… to just see them in a game and really see how they don’t do much.
If someone feels offended because You are going to look at their own stats (that were made by them, no one else), then there is always a reason for that.
Coming back to SPAA talk, if someone is really going to say that they are effective, I would like to see that effectivnes in something other than just words. After overpressure mechanic was implemented and guided missles got nerfed, I have played air vechicles and have seen how it affected their performence and how ineffective they have become compared to new armament which was added for the air. One can argue that the nerf for guided weaponary also affected the air, but by flying the heli I know that it is much harder for SPAA to hit moving target than from heli perspective to destroy the said SPAA (if someone would argue that You should try to move with SPAA, then oh boy, try it and see how Your missle will never really hit the target ((not talking about people flying in straight line or hovering))).
So yes, if someone is coming to the topic which I have tested myself and wants to just go by ‘just take SPAA bro’ argument, then I will need something more than ‘just trust me bro, it works’.
