Super Étendard

As said above, the time required for the laser designation to guide an AS30L and that for a GBU is not identical. the time saved allows the plane to be safe more quickly since it is exposed to SAM for less time. and for an identical target distance, the missile can be fired from a lower altitude.

if something cant hit you the extra time doesnt really change much against an sam, at top tier would matter as sams can hit you, in a 10.0 match only the type 81 oppose you an actual thread and there the bombs are also a better option due to the extra range.

With the ASL30L you can quite easily shot at 13.5 to 14kms if you first designate the ground at 10km from you and then move the cursor to the target at a longer distance. The missile has a bit more battery life than the 10km range, so I’d argue the AS30L still have longer ranges

May be mentioned elsewhere but the Anemone radar has TWS capability according to the author of this book (a French military aeronautics specialist).

It was reported, but unfortunately we could not find any sources that provided the exact scan patterns / modes for those patterns, so it uses the Tornado radar as a placeholder at the moment.

In fact we therefore have an Aida radar on this “modernized” Super Etendard and not an Anemone radar.

Yeah, they did not even try on this one lol

It’s not super straight forward unfortunately. If we could get an S4 or S5 manual that would help, but currently the publicly available one is from 1981. The S3 would be around 1997/1998 which is unfortunately well within classification still.

Yeah, but for the first PESA radar introduced in game, they did not try really hard to give it common PESA capabilities, such as multitracking.
Granted, this would be gimmicky on this platform (except if they improved the ground radar capabilities, as it only locks IA for me right now, but still)

The minimum size for ground targets is huge on the radar (10 meters) , so you can only effectively lock up pill boxes and ships. They had an Exocet added to the files last update, so if they added it you could fire it at naval targets at the very least.

A very informative video on the SEM cockpit made by a former French naval aviation pilot.
I dare to invite the gaijin developers who worked on the in-game plane to look at it :)

Reading about the Exocet I saw this thread.

The 2.5s burn of the SNPE condor motor of 80kg accelerates the missile to Mach 0.93 and its followed by a 145 second burn of the Hélios motor 170kg. 145s at M0.93 at 10ft over the sea gives distance of 46Km. Pretty much the distance advertised for the MM-38(surface launched). It flies at 30-45ft during the cruise and, I assume, 10km(when the seeker locks onto the ship) it drops to 10ft. The sustain rocket is basically smokeless from what I’ve seen on the Exocet which is neat.

Il sélectionne plusieurs critères dont la hauteur de vol finale, la distance à laquelle l’autodirecteur doit commencer à fonctionner, à quelle distance doivent s’effectuer les paliers

And you can modify the flight-attack profile, perhaps with this you can fire it at higher alt and get a longer range.

But you can’t make it climb.

about the Agave

Ce radar est donné pour détecter un grand destroyer non furtif à 100 nautiques.

I thought the missile used a jet engine like the harpoon but its a solid rocket engine and it flies faster than it but it has a lower range. I think the decreasing altitude thing is to stay under the horizon, launch at high alt to use the lower pressure. You input range, launch alt, active phase and perhaps if you want it to fly at deck or descends slowly

Some visual bugs reported:

Images from the Atlis must be viewed from the MFD and not from the quadrant reserved for the RWR.

The pylon of the Atlis pod is incorrect (the ADP 180 is identical for the Damocles pod by the way…)

They gived the AMX attacker CDLP and 6 GBU-12 at 10.3, could u please suggest gaijin buff the Super Etendard to make it as well as the AMX attacker?

his suggestion would make it at least 11.0, it is fine where it currently is

With reduced armament and reduced radar capacity that it does not deserve to suffer, SEM is not well where it is currently. it should at least be equipped with the AS 30L and this would be the minimum to repair on this superb aircraft even if it would slightly improve its BR.

I would rather they make a separate S5 variant since it’s the lowest guided munition plane France has at the moment, which supplements the 10.0 line-up tremendously well. That way it could also get the DAMOCLES pod and enhanced Paveways.

I doubt that we will soon have the SEM standard 5 with damocles and Magic 2 and this would lead at least to BR 11. The current SEM at stake benefits from an honorable RWR that even the Mirages F1C/C-200 do not have. Climbing to BR 10.3 with just the addition of the AS 30L would not be inconsistent.

Anyone did notice the extreme lock up with combat flaps above 900kmh? them not breaking is cool but they turn you into a literal brick that cant pull any Gs then releasing flaps makes u instantly pull again. Also using full real controls ripped only tiny tiny edge of the wing and it counted it as death despite plane still able to behave normally quite fully. I dont think its proper performance and might make report on it cause its very hard to tell at what speed combat flaps start to render the plane uncontrolable.
