Introduction
The Moog Reconfigurable Integrated Weapons Platform (RIwP) is a modular, lightweight, remote, armoured turret developed by Moog Inc, a military hardware manufacturer. It is developed to be ‘component agnostic’, meaning it is plug-and-play with a whole host of different weapon systems from customer nations. The modularity of the turret means it is highly configurable, able to be set up with ATGMs, AAMs, Autocannons, LMGs, Observation equipment, or a combination of the above. Moog are currently pushing the turret hard in the UK market, due to the exponentially growing need to for mobile, short-ranged air defences capable of countering the growing threat from cheap, massed, drones.
The Supacat HMT ACC (Armoured Closed Cab) is a four-person, highly protected variant of the High Mobility Transporter family, designed to combine blast and ballistic protection with mission-system integration and logistical commonality. It is designed for a crew of commander, driver and two mission operators, and offers a payload of roughly 3,500 - 4,000 kg, with a top speed of about 120 km/h and a range nearing 800 km. The Supacat HMT was formally unveiled at Defence Vehicle Dynamics 2024 (DVD24) in September 2024, and is offered as a candidate for the UK Ministry of Defence’s Land Mobility Programme (LMP).
At the SUPACAT HMT Capability Day at Long Valley in March 2025, the new HMT ACC was shown with the MOOG RIwP turret in the ‘Overwatch’ Configuration, with its main armament being a twin launcher of ground-based Brimstone missiles, quad launcher for the Starstreak HVM and Thales Lightweight Multirole Missile (LMM) anti-air missiles, as well as a 30mm XM914 Autocannon, capable of firing 30mm proxy and airburst ammunitions. Detection of aerial targets is provided by the advanced electro-optical (E/O) sensor suite.
In game, this would serve as a a very unique and extremely capable all-round vehicle, capable of launching Brimstone guided missiles at ground targets (potentially fire-and-forget if gaijin chooses to implement them as such), Starstreak and LMM missiles at aircraft, and 30mm proximity/airburst munitions at anything that gets close enough to warrant it. A truly exceptional little vehicle.
