Ahhhh. Sometimes I forget IRIS T is an IR SAM. That makes sense. I think this issue is fixed on the upgraded version SLX? Two way datalink and all (IIRC)
Something needs to be done about this + said helis getting MITL (although we don’t know how MITL will be modelled for helicopters?)
There are clouds that are pretty low in elevation (~2-3km altitude) fairly often but I have noticed I have been getting more and more rounds where the only clouds are in a super thin layer at 20+km altitude.
I mean they could add this thing which can carry up to 60 Miniature Hit-to-Kill missiles per launcher, which are short range active radar missiles designed specifically to intercept incoming missiles, bombs, artillery shells, rockets, mortars, etc.
SP cost increases and maybe scouting cost reduction nerfs as well are long overdue.
The whole SP cost system should be overhauled anyways. Amount of weapons should be included in the calculation.
Gun SPAA could also use some dynamic SP cost, so going with anti tank belts makes them more expensive to spawn.
BR decompression for CAS specifically would also help a lot lol
I still think CIWS for the players that actually care enough to defend their teams from CAS would be a huge addition though, as high BR CAS can have a massive impact on the match, if left unchecked and a good CAS pilot can easily avoid most SAMs.
I feel like gun based CIWS vehicles would be a lot more useful than a rocket/missile based one (dunno if that would still be called CIWS or if it is a C-RAM then).
The CIWS and C-RAM pretty much the same thing aside from a few minor differences. At its core, the hardware is all the same (same gun, same radar, same gimbal mount, etc). The C-RAM is the army version, and they are mounted on trucks like the HEMTT or in fixed positions. It also fires a HEIT-SD round, which self destructs after traveling a set distance to prevent collateral damage. The CIWS is the naval version, they are just mounted on ships, and they fire an APDS round.
I am aware that at the end of the day they are very similar and do mostly the same job, but CIWS and C-RAM seem to be used interchangeably these days, they do the same job after all.
Maybe I should just call them point-defence systems, but then people probably don’t know what I’m talking about lol
I’ve seen APS being called CIWS, Skyranger and Pantsir being called CIWS, C-RAM and SHORAD, etc
Either way, more nations deserve to have something that can actually shoot down incoming bombs and missiles!
Sergeant Stout my beloved. I want this thing in game so bad
There’s also this thing they could add, the JLTV C-UAS, which is pretty much the same thing but with no hellfires, instead having the AGR-20F (laser guided hydra with an added IR seeker and proxy fuse), and being put on a JLTV instead of a Stryker.
Wow. They’re really trying to throw anything else in but the BR changes.
Is the marketing team really that afraid of facing their own BS?
The world wonders…
