I guess if it is implemented in game it’s really up to gaijin.
Where are the internal fuel tanks located besides the wing?
It’s not
The argument is murky, but personally I believe LDIRCM is well capable of burning IIR seekers
Not any system currently mounted on helicopters and likely small aircraft too.
My point still stands
If LIDAR on cars on damage cameras, a 3.5kVa system can easily burn a seeker
I really don’t wanna get in this argument again, atleast for now
These are not comparable.
Yes a small laser against camera vs a big laser against a slightly different camera isn’t comparable
well, we know that Vitebsk can counter MANPADS pretty effectively at least.
And afaik, even future eurofighter and j16 are opting for DIRCM, what’s the point of putting these “obsolete” systems if they can’t do anything against IIR
Why does IRIS-T specify CDIRCM capabilities of all IIR are immune?
LDIRCM is overperforming I agree, but people are not focussing on what’s actually wrong about them.
Yes there are some counter claims too, hence the argument is murky and I don’t wanna get into it again for now.
Notice how you have really made any objective statement so far. There is at least 1 study discussing how much power is needed to damage a imaging seeker enough to destroy it, said study not a single ldircm we have ingame has an output close that what would be needed.
The argument against it working is much more well funded. There is no real evidence in support of them doing anything
not against AAM for sure.(tho eurofighter may take use of it as potiential enemy still cant figure out how to make IIR)
