in russian service is only one, with nothing behind it, the 27M
and the other Su-35 with nothing after is the export varian of the Su-35S

No, Su-35BM was an unrealized program from 1999 taking notes from Su-27M, Su-30MKI/MKK, hence the canards. They also would’ve had rather differing tech than Su-35.

Well pre-production Su-35S being called Su-35 makes sense in Russian terminology… I always thought the BM was the prototype/pre-production of Su-35S since many websites claim that, and they look very similar
