Better later than sooner. Everything starting with F-16C Block 50 and MiG-29SMT was extremely rushed. There should’ve been more gradual introduction of weaponry and avionics advancement, instead of jumping literal decades of RnD.

These jokes were funny when F-15E was being added against the pre-buff Su-27SM. Su-30SM is already better than any US jet, US actually has the worst top tier jets right now and on top of that F-15EX would be mid in WT. Should’ve at least said F-22, it would still be a bad joke, but a tolerable one.
Also jokes are funny the first time you hear them. I see people talking shit about US mains so often that it really starts to get old.
There is not a single source that state the empty weight of Su-35s. The one that said 19tons its from Piotr Butowski book. But its calculate from the Old brochure from Knaapo. SU-35_TM_eng.pdf
This old articule from Key Aereo state that Early variant Su-35 901 only weight 16500. But that was without some system. Like radar. All you need to know about the Sukhoi Su-35 Flanker-E

I have one that states it’s 18400 kg, but it’s secondary source at best and I question its validity. There’s a primary source floating out there that has su27m weight that I’ve seen before that I’m going try and find again. Su35s yeah there’s no official empty weight for it

If you are talking about balance, how come that F-15E is the only one that was spared 14.3 treatment? Please don’t tell me that it is bad, F-15E can compete with any 14.3 even if it doesn’t have 1 to 1 capabilities.
and yet you still got offended… take it easy, maybe you will be less salty all the time.
Su-30 is better in missile count and radar. But F-15C and F-15E have enough of their own strengths to compete with Su-30 pretty easily and both are at lower br than it.
Maybe it wouldn’t get old if you didn’t tried to take it personally, my man. But you probably would never listen.

I also think that it’s better to just add variants of current US planes with AESA radars.
If we think logically then we have:
Factors that imply less weight
- No canards, which means no hydraulics and strengthening of the airframe that adds weight.
- No airbrake, which means again, no hydraulics and added weight. Instead of the brake there is additional fuel tank but it should be lighter than airbrake mechanisation.
- Modern avionics based on much ligher electronic components (this one could differ a lot depending on what exactly was done).
- New composite materials used in the airframe can lead to reduced weight.
Factors that imply more weight:
- N035 is more powerful than N011M so it might be heavier.
- MAW and other new features that might require additional wiring (but again, depending on how modern is all that we could get quite a big weight difference)
- AL-41F1S is bigger and most likely heavier than AL-31
- Strengthened airframe with additional harpoints as well as increased load limit on them can add a hefty amount of weight.
That’s what i could think off as of this moment.

then scratch that from second group and add it to the first one. And if wiring in the airframe was replaced with optic fiber as well it would make it quite a bit lighter.
The thing its. Yes the Airframe use a lot more of composite and better Materials. But the Airframe was also strengthen/Reinforce. The Area around were the Air break was locate. Was also redesign. Its was this part that was modify and blender better with the wing. That and because the Brochure has the Khibiny pod (15.3m of wing span)… People was under the assumption that Su-35s has bigger wings. Like in the F-2 from Japan compare with the F-16. In this regard it was commented by the design. That with that modification the Su-35s has better aerodynamic than older Su-27.
As you has comment. Su-35s also has a lot more system than other Flanker. Like the IFF/Interrogator on the wing. And RAM…
For me the close the Weight on game its to 18000ish the better.
That’s why i just theorised, without any conclusions. There are a lot of factors that play in reduction of weight as well as in increase of it.
