are you sure it’s ground control only? from what I understand it’s linked to range preset (below or above 70km)

Yo guys the su27m/35 710 also tested the pak fa/su-57 engines sooooooo… even more thrust + 3d thrust vectoring over the al41f1s. Al41f1 supremacy. This thing would be a beast
F1S also has 3D thrust vectoring. Difference between F1 and F1S is control system. F1 uses fully digital engine controls while F1S uses electromechanical. But I dunno if reduced thrust is because of this difference or it was done separately for other reasons
I thought al41f1s on su35 was limited in its 3d thrust vectoring system? Only fully 3d system I know for sure is ovt for mig 29 and al51
Also do you know how to tell al41f1s and al31f apart from nozzles?
No, 41F and 41F1S are identical in everything but thrust and engine controls as I said. F1S downgrade was most likely done to decrease price and increase production rates. People analysed footage from air shows of Su-35S and found frames when engine nozzle was deflected alongside yaw axis which is impossible for AL-31FP like TVC.
I posted pictures above, if hydraulics are unpowered - TVC petals on AL-41 should go straight down while AL-31FP will go down and inwards. But on a running engine - probably can’t.
Do you know how al37fu differs from either of them in terms of looks? From the research I’ve done I still can’t find any solid evidence of them being installed so I’ve resorted to combing through photos of su37 and trying to compare photos
Zero clue. I haven’t even seen photos of that engine on a stand. But currently there’s only one engine with TVC that has very distinc nozzle difference - AL-51 aka Izdelye 30.
You can see it in the left nacelle
Photos from such tests would help a lot, because they are done first with only one engine replaced. If there could be photos or videos from 710 testing AL-41F1 we could look at visual distinctions
Problem is most photos I find are it in flight and you can’t tell if nozzles are canted or not. Since Piotr says himself it tested al41f1 and al41f1s and it was the only su27m flying by the mid 2010s, I’m inclined to believe it but I would also love to see actual photos of the nozzles tilted
USSR also tested flat nozzles on Su-27 in 1990s

Yeah, model looks identical pretty much, but the right one looks like it’s placed at a bigger vertical angle. Is it known what nacelle holds the new engine?
Al41f1s replaced both engines, al41f1 only replaced one engine. Not entirely sure which one it would be
By bet is on the right one being AL-41. Looking at that photo and photo of Su-27 with a flat nozzle you can see similarities between “regular” engines on both photos
I also have 710 next to first serial su35s let me find those pics
41F1 and 41F1S probably indistinguishable visually. At least at that distance. Could be some differences in maintenance hatches and such because of different control system thats about it
