Mig 21 bis situation all over again? One of the only planes to get special mode for its engine
no pretty much everything uses the highest avaiable thrust setting
(besides the Mig-29 which operates in a low power mode for some reason)

No they don’t, for example tornado or 27 or 15 or eurofighter etc don’t get war time thrust.
Maybe gripen too but i forgor on that
I never saw any photo of Su-30SM carring Kh-38M and simply though Russians didn’t integrated them. And from what i saw on brochure i though it was meant for dealing with building etc.
From what I’ve see kh38 only for mig 35, su 35 and su 34
The laser variant its for that. And its the one their are using on the conflict. IR just like the Kh-29TD “main” objetive is Ships. Here is a pic of the Kh-29TD doing that on a Su-30sm. If the Kh-38 its mean to replace the Kh-29 family the IR variant its expect to be in Su-30sm.

Ye but for know VKS don’t use them on theirs Su-30SM maybe they didn’t integrated them for now to safe some money. Kh-38 was quite new when air force sign contract for Su-30s. Idk maybe it’s just me but i’m a little bit sceptical about current capabilities of Su-30 with Kh-38M.

These Su-30sm are mostly for defense. Apart from Trying to shot USV. And losing some Su-30sm. We don’t know what these Su-30sm can do. Because they are not very active in the conflict. I would even said that Su-57 have more flying hours than these Su-30sm. (i Might be totally wrong).
This also enter in the same category as “Kh-38 might Not Exist” Kind of Thread. I have already read same guy talking about. Well we haven’t see K-77M on Dual Pylon so it might not exist. When IRL Su-35s are not flying with dual Pylon because they are prioritizing R-37M over them.
I would rather have the Rafale be the best plane as opposed to the Eurofighter.
Simply because I’m prejudiced against the Typhoon.

Yeah.
I kinda thought it was bonkers when the Rafale got nerfed and the EFT just stayed as crazy as it was before.
I thought it was supposed to be pretty even in terms of FM.
Yeah no I understand the preference, the thing is, it’s already the best.
But I’m gonna end this here, it’s better if this thread stays on topic.
