Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 2)

This is from gszabi’s server with datamine. What do you think about it? I might be wrong but AL-31FP in game has accurate thrust so what they are planning to do.

I highly doubt they are planning AL-41’s for it, even tho it wouldn’t be the first time a Flanker gets an engine swap.

Maybe it just ends up being a slight increase, but imo it’s already a good start.

Ye but AFAIK Su-30SM didn’t get any more powerfull engines than AL-31FP. Maybe they want to add AL-31F-M1 to make what if vehicles

And that Kh-38M buff… Idk gaijin should just remove them from Su-30SM and Su-25SM3 and leave only ML on Su-34. It would help with balance and “historicall accuracy”.

Yeah I agree, as you said in the previous message, the thrust seemed to be right, every bug report for it was just closed as far as I know.

So they might actually be going for either a swap or a Minor/Considerable buff to the already installed engine.

It’s just nonsense to change it

Guess we have to wait for the dev server

Most likely it’s going to be planned new engine which will be pretty nice buff if it’s real.

The only option they have is AL-41F-1S which if i remember correctly was tested on this airframe. Any other engines would be just fictional for this aircraft

Most likely it’s going to be AL-41.

TBH it would be better to just add SM2

Have you guys considered that you just don’t know the real installed thrust chart for the engine?

Wasn’t there a report for this already? Which got closed as “not a bug”.

Do you have that kind of information or something like it? For now thrust on AL-31FP look fine and pretty accurate from what i know. But i might be wrong

I also highly suspect that the Su30sm has different thrust values to the normal Al31

It just dosent make sense to me to use a different fuel, which changes the color of the afterburner but not any thrust values

Maybe but how much a difference it would make

i dont know, to get an idea you would need to know the energy density of both the old and the new fuel

i cant tell you how much of a difference it would make, i can only tell you that it would make a difference

maybe it has to do with how much power the engine puts out in flight, I dont know what the current engine curve is, but maybe its higher at certain speed ranges, maybe it doesnt lose as much power when installed compared to a static power test as it does in the game. While they’re not being clear, there’s no way to know for sure, but I can guess a bunch of different things that aren’t just a new engine.

I remember the thrust of the Su30 being 12060-ish kgf on the very first day of Hornet Sting dev server, I don’t know where they got that number from and why it was changed after just a few hours, but maybe we could see a number close to that coming back.

For know thrust is 11660kgf for each engine
