Su-34 carries dedicated jammer pods, they’re only PESA though and not aesa
Do you mean this pod?

Good lads, anyone got a picture of how the Tu95 MSM radar looks?
I read that is PESA, but I can’t find pictures aside from the outside chin/radome.
Nice try, mister spy.

Well, dunno abt MSM but this is supposedly Obzor-MS (according to APA so take it with 15 gallons of salt)
Spoiler

I wish it had a better payload, seems so underwhelming for the bomber that carried the tsar bomba (ik they modified the aircraft for that mission but still)
@kizvy I’m gonna bring the convo here since I don’t wanna spam the Chinese thread.
But this guy actually made me tweak tf out.

usually right in that image. Indigenous will probably have more, more robust systems than export variants.
let’s break down the points
-
Export 29smts have engines with more thrust
According to what? AFAIK SMTs use series 3 engines which don’t offer more thrust, they offer more reliable engines with longer engine life -
30SM better than MKI, but MKI was a better variant of a plane Russia themselves weren’t using until 12 years later
Agreed, you can see this now with the export 34MEs for Algeria. Russian exports can sometimes be better than indigenous planes because customers pay more for extra features that russian MOD doesnt. -
Russians always use special upgrades
Often, yes, but not always. Can’t apply it to everything -
Sometimes mig-29 can have su-57 missiles or radars
Wow, russian planes use the same missiles/share similar radars? Sugoi wow amazing. Yeah of course. This is a nothingburger. -
Mig-21 with su-35 tech
idk, maybe weapons commonality? Other than that I don’t see it really
I could’ve swore the Indian MiG-29SMTs had more thrust. I remember people trying to get some export engine put on the Russian MiG-29SMT a while ago.
I’ll look into it. It was probably over a year ago in the MiG-29 thread.
I will bet my R-77-1 loadout on SM2 that they just confused Indian MiG-29SMT and MiG-29K. K comes with RD-33MK with thrust increased up to 9000 kgf on afterburner.
Ah, most likely.
It might’ve also been that someone assumed RD-33 Series 3 made more thrust.
I just remember trying to look for different engines being tested on the 9-19 after someone in the MiG-29 thread said the export SMTs had better engines.
Well, Su-30 development history is very convoluted, MKI technically was designed specifically to meet India demands and by most part was designed “from scratch”, using a lot of features from very different Flanker projects.
There seems to be some things that considered critical in which export models can’t be equal or superior to domestic versions, but other than that - anyrhing goes as long as buyer is willing to pay.
new Mig-21 upgrade programm
we gonna call it the Mig-21-35 and give it a mini Irbis and the ability to launch the r-37m
MiG-21 with Al-41F1S and R-77M?
Count me in.
lets give it the Mig-29 OVT style TVC tho
MiG-21 trying to finally retire
I posted this in the Chinese Flanker threat but I’ll share it here too.
@GitGood I’m sure you’ll love this guy’s “Leaks”
Bro is high on RU copium i see. Su-37 is almost as heavy as Su-30SM. Also there is little to no info about R-27M. Out all that the only believable thing is that next gen missiles aren’t gonna be available to Su-35S because outside of Meteor and maybe upgraded MICA (is this thing even in service on aircrafts?) there is no competition to R-77M, not to mention R-37M (outside of Chinese super secret missiles).
The best part about it all is that in his profile he claims to be Stona.
