Also, what’s the empty weight of the 30SM? I remember it being ~18,500 Kg, no?
That’s odd. I still want to know what’s up with the weight increase.
Yeah, probably got heavier due to extra indigenous capabilities like maybe a better iff interrogator or something.

according to UAC the SME (Not the SM I know, but I can’t find the SM page.) has a higher normal take off weight and lower max take off weight.
The suggestion for the Su-30SM has it listed at 17,700kg. (I assume they pulled it from this source, which is second hand.)

From a textbook of the practical aerodynamics of the su-30sm from Mai institute (basically a teaching institute) it lists the su-30sm “operational empty weight” as 19710 kg.
Note the speed limits stated are absolute limits and are not practical limits

Idk what Irkut was on.
But this is just titled Su-30MK, shows and MKM, and gives some values similar to the Su-30SM.
But the normal take off weight is has an extra 1,1090kg. and the max has 500 kg less.
And according to Sukhoi the MK have the same normal and max weight as the SM.

Also according to wikipedia (great source, I know) the MKI is 18,400 kg empty. Same as the MKM.
I can’t find a source for the MKI’s empty weight other than that. :p

@Saprano_2132 Hey, I know you have that book written by Sukhoi, does it say anything about the weight increase between MKI/MKM and SM?
Idk if russia has a dedicated EW fighter like the J-16D or EA-18G
But i did find something called the Su-24MP which i guess is in the same class lol
