If there is no F-15EX, then there is no Su-35S. I think gaijin gonna make thematic update, just like the original Eagle and Flanker

I think J-15 improves its chances for sure.
Honestly not really, SM2 released so that the best flanker platform could stay in the russian tree, this J-15 on paper changes nothing so I doubt the Su-35 is in the works.
Also worth to mention that the Su-35 and SM2 differences would be way smaller than they should have been.

Su-30SM2 honestly just kills all the hype about Su-35S. Unless gaijin will bring something really outstanding. Like, i don’t really care about MAWS, it won’t change much in playstyle, just boost your awareness a bit. Missile kit is the same, so does sensor kit. Unless we get some unique FM or R-77M - there is barely a reason to even add Su-35S

If they had added SM2 with Bars instead of Irbis, like they should have, I would say that.
But… you know… :p
SM2 was just a lazy rushed decision. Ideally it should’ve never been added. Barely any difference from SM to justify full RP cost, but also barely different from Su-35S in “planned” configuration to, again, justify adding it.

ideally it would’ve been a mod that adds in extra CMs and the ability to carry R-37M whenever they add that.
But yes, the SM2 was a lazy addition.

Watched them add IZD-177 engines to Su-35, HMD from Su-57 and more things just to justify Su-35’s addition.

If Su-35 tested Izd. 177 they could technically add it.
Iırc brochure claims its compatible with Sukhoi models that has AL engines so that would be more than sufficient to add in Gaijin’s eyes.
Isn’t the J-15 that was shown in the trailer has WS-10s that also shouldn’t be on it?
WS-10 was actually tested and iimplemented on J-15 iirc.
