Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 2)

As far as I can see there is only one report for the Su34 airbrake, and it was made a staggering 6 hours ago with no sources attached.

However if I look at the rafale report for it, I can find two, one labelled as not a bug and one fixed, both with multiple sources attached.

To me this means that once the Su35 hits the dev server it will have to be properly reported as well, I’m sure someone will dig up the files (not Epstein’s) to make one.

Maybe @kizvy got something in store for it.

We will introduce Kh-38MT with barely any documentation for it, but we will completely ignore basic airframe capabilities that are common knowledge… Unless they are reported by community… and we aren’t too lazy at this moment… and if it’s not too hard to do… and if bug report manager will even look at it…

What

Implement an airbrake

Super Hornet also has the similiar system, I noticed during my first landing after surviving 40 missiles Xd

Wait so they modelled airbrake via rudders?

Not with rudders no, but in general with its flight control surfaces.

They should model the rudder airbrake for both the Su35 and F22 when they are released.

Oh really? I had no clue tbh, FM also counts as constant airbrake 😂

Took me a while to reply to ur message, I was looking at JD Vance 15+ car escort from my office window lmao, apparently he’s here for the winter Olympic games.

is F18E that bad? sustained is better at all speeds, and especially at lower speeds. heck it even touches eurofighters STR at low speed, tho yeah its still anemic at higher speeds.

green is EF, blue is SH and orange is fa18a

i havent played SH yet, dont wanna grind it either

Yeah control surfaces also functions as an airbrake while it also has dedicated two small ones unlike one big chonky on previous F-18 models.

Its such a niche but nice feature, one of my favorite thing alongside with new air intakes on Super Hornet :)

I noticed around 800-1000km Super Hornet holds its energy very well, in fact when you turn it barely looses any speeds.

Yep lol, he landed this morning near Milan

That’s pretty cool, now I see no reason not to model the rudder airbrake on other jets🫡

To be fair 13.7 and 14.0 are nicer now than before. J-11B slaps hard though, much more than even the SM.

Suggestion is made but its still pending. Soon
