In Belarus documentary about SM2 their airforce commander says “mdernisation of onboard radar station”. Yeah, it is more likely an upgrade of N011M of some sort. I wonder what they managed to cook with this thing to double the effective range.

i mean it will work, real life aint no 16v16 with both sides running full Fox-3 loadouts. But yeah, it is quite sad to see.
i think it might just be a Su-27ub tbh looks like its lacking the canards as well in the pic you sent

Hmm, you could be right. Angle makes canards really hard to see so they might not be there at all. And IRST bubble seems to be closer to the middle as well.
also the Su-30SM has the black paint on the canopy for the belarussian models aswell, also just noticed it has a single wheel landing gear aswell yeah its def a Su-27ub

I wonder, Su-30SM2 was planned to SPECIFICALLY get AL-41F1S or just new engine with comparable thrust. Because Izdelie 177S is pretty much AL-41F1S but designed for AL-31F engine mounts. Could it be that SM2 waits for those engines to become available. It’s just, iirc AL-41F1S requires some airframe changes to be installed.
Honestly, I’m predicting it will be delayed, and the worst part is we’ll have to wait for the trailer because there won’t be any leaks this month, at least that’s what Zabi said.

The Su-27SM has aged like fine wine, but back when the F-15C completely dominated, it was a very difficult aircraft to use in the Spamraam meta, 10km HMS, 6 R77s, and it didn’t even have better engines. When the Eurocanards arrived, I simply switched to GRB because I didn’t have the patience to use the Su-27SM even with the improvements.

thats just hearsay but i heard that the EW pods have RWR antennas in them, improving RWR coverage when equipped
