Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 2)

your comparison is in bad faith
you should also compare the thrust to weight

the Flankers are alot bigger than the Eurofighters

wdym if they apply AL-41? It already has AL-41

The AMCA never once stopped receiving funding for development… I was more inquiring about FGFA renewal, which you had seemingly been mentioning.

Brother…

And that is what I did. They are heavier, but also has a lot more thrust.

This al41 is not the AL41 I am talking about. This ‘al41F’ is essentially upgraded AL31.

but that dosent mean they have a higher thrust to weight or better acceleration

only if the freaking snail really wants the su35 to be weak, just like they did with the flankers when they first came out, and kind of like they’re doing now by not giving these jets their real relative performance

edit: for some reason mig29 and su27 are the only fourth generation jets that cant have an Oswald Factor between 0.75~0.85 +/- like any other normal jet from their generation lol

You mean the original one for the MFI program? Does it matter when they have the same thrust anyways

They are not even the same engine.

Oh, I thought you meant AMCA was cancelled

So… Izdeliye 20? The engine that never once left cell?

Where did I say they were the same engine?

Well that is what they sort of plan on installing since we were talking about ‘newest flanker’. Or otherwise they might have done it and just we have no idea. I mean up to this point, I can’t tell Russian jet engines by nozzle anymore.

Typhoon is made for higher altitudes and speeds, has low wave drag and good supersonic performance. There’s no reason to believe it would be any worse in these conditions than the Su 35. Given the Su 27’s performance at transonic and supersonic speeds relative to the F-15, I think the Su 35 will similarly be a bit worse than Western aircraft in these conditions.

But that its what its suppose to be or aim at. Its don’t have 932mm of diameter like Al-41F-1/117s on Su-35s. That is why it can be installed on Al-31 fighters (excluding J-10) without modifications. Even when it was present at Zhuhai. It was offered as an upgrade for AL-31 jet fighter… “The engine corresponds to the AL-31F engine in terms of dimensions and weight, which ensures complete interchangeability with the engines of the current stage.”

There is people that said that the engine its no ready. And Russian just want partners.

Yea my bad i mean to said 14 tf or 30,860 lbf.

For what “FlankerChan” said Its use BARS mechanic parts and steering.

For what i remember reading that engine its too big, heavy and expansive. That’s why it wasn’t an option for Su-57. I also remember reading that Russia still have like 10 AL-41 stored somewhere.

That is not at all what anybody is planning on using… The “newest flanker” (Su-30SM2) even uses AL-41F-1S, not AL-41F.

Might have just done what? Revived a 2+ decade old failure of an engine and magically shoved it into a Flanker?
You’re joking, right?

Sorry to say, but that’s quite possibly the easiest thing to do.

Continuing on the max speed issue:

I found another example that uses a 1.1 multiplier instead of 1.05:

JF-17

According to the manufacturer’s website the max Mach number is 1.6 and Max IAS is 700 kt

In the game the limits are Mach 1.76 and 1,430 km/h (772 kt)

It’s getting interesting …

Not sure who pulled the strings, but thank you

@DirectSupport @MythicPi

Now we have to see if it gets shut down by the devs or not …
