If we look at what a jet needs to be competitive the only thing the Su-30Sm lacks is acceleration and top speed.
Payload: yes 12 R-77-1 2nd best missile currently 120s are better at range but suffer when distances reduce. R-73 is still very good close in.
Radar: Yes an amazing Radar
Can it dogfight: Yes not against a Eurocanard but everything else yes.
Su-30SM is more meta than an F-15 or a Typhoon.
I would say typhoon is better cause u get the choice of playing high and low, as well as better manoeuvrability. F15E whilst not as good as it was, is still the most consistent thing, if u play conservative there is next to no chance anyone takes u down. Su30SM is really good don’t get me wrong, but it is at most equal to F15E and worse than eurocanards.
Typhoon you shouldn’t play low, your speed is the same as everyone else’s on the deck and your missiles and Radar are not good enough, Typhoon needs to be high and fast and further away. Typhoon needs to be played more passively. Yes 1 v 1 and when I know where a jet is and my Radar is working Typhoon can beat anything even a Rafale, it’s hard as they just auto notch your missiles but it can be done.
But in the chaos of 16 v 16 Typhoons Radar even in narrow scan mode is a liability.
With a better Radar like the PESA on a Su-30 Typhoon would be notably superior.
But Su-30 will always have greater kill potentials and we see that when Karma flies a Su-30 and when he flies a Typhoon.

Meaningless, a good pilot being able to throw hands vs air rb randoms doesn’t make Su-30 more meta than EF/Beagle/Rafale. Don’t get me wrong, Su-30 isn’t a bad plane, but it simply isn’t as meta as the big 3.

Of course you wouldn’t no one would and that’s the point at top tier Typhoon has the worst Radar and the worst payload (second only to the Gripen) but it is fast and in BVR it can defend and crank. But that is literally it.
Typhoon is fast and murders most things in 1v1 but we don’t play 1v1 we play 16v16.

Not 16 v 16 the Radar and payload are insufficient, you end up firing off 2 missiles and not getting a kill and then you have 4 120s left for the late game it is a real balance.

I would argue su-30 is definitely more meta than f-15e for ARB/ASB. I would say its worse than the eurofighter/rafale.
F-15E has more chance to run away from Eurofighter/Rafale, Su-30SM can’t
well, unlike the f-15e which compresses like crazy, the su30 can keep up with a notch fight with the eurofighter, rafale not so much. with its hobs missiles it still stands a chance against those jets, f-15e is just forced to run away
