It had that thermal cam before conflict. Only most of pictures/video which probably prove that are from current conflict. Maybe I can post only part of data which are not from current conflict and remained data as direct message for people who will request them?
No. The M443 Raduga-VM, from what I’ve seen, doesn’t have the ability to look ahead. Only straight down from the UKR-OE container.
Zhrnutie
I am not sure if this is UKR-OE container but on bottom side we can see rectangular window.
That looks like just a contrast TV feed and not FLIR/Thermals
Yeah it is contrast TV. Looks like that.
Yes, this is TV.
Fuel tank = TGP. Ok
Thats not fuel tank. Fuel tanks are that white ones. Containers from UKR series are colored blue with a gray cone. For example UKR-RT container:
this isnt a fuel tank:
Yep its probably UKR pod combined with fuel tank.
and what would that mean for War Thunder?
or to be more percise what is the UKR pod capable of?
This is what I have:
https://ruslet.webnode.cz/technika/ruska-technika/letecka-technika/p-o-suchoj/su-34-nvo-fullback/
I have also some photos what looks like thermal image (also is possible that may be contrast TV but it looks more for me like thermal) probably from this pod (if its thermal) but its from recent conflict so I can only send you in DM if you want. From what I saw its very likely it only look down so unusable for missiles.
shows how much better contrast is irl than in game. Probably hard to code anyways
I mean, they could just use thermals code without strong heat sources glowing

The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) has finally received Su-34 bombers equipped with new multipurpose targeting pods under the Sych programme, following a lengthy and occasionally delayed process.
According to aerospace industry sources cited by Russian state-run news agency TASS, several aircraft are now equipped with reconnaissance pods to enhance the ability of the Su-34 to detect ground targets of all types.
These pods include UKR-OE for EO reconnaissance, UKR-RL for radar reconnaissance and UKR-RT for electronic reconnaissance.
They are arguably years overdue, as new Sych pods for the Su-34 were mentioned as long ago as November 2011 by NPO Mashinostroeniya, with production from PO Strela and development by the Kulon Research Institute (part of Roselectronics Holding).
A spotter photo in 2015 showed an Su-34 with UKR-RL visible as a side-looking radar , but little information emerged since then.
However, according to a Shephard source in the Russian defence industry, testing and finalisation delays with UKR-RL meant that the system was not completed until 2020; in June that year, a contract was signed to upgrade 20 combat Su-34s to Su-34 NVO level, with work due for completion in 2023.
In March 2021, a bomber regiment in Shagol in the Chelyabinsk region received the first pair of Su-34 NVOs with new targeting pods, improved radar and an upgraded communications system. Shephard understands that avionics and EW systems have also been upgraded and a wider variety of guided bombs and missiles is available.
Meanwhile, a contract to produce 24 new Su-34 frontline bombers was signed in 2020. There is no reliable information about their configuration, but it is likely to resemble that of the Su-34 NVO. So far, the VKS has received 131 serial-production Su-34 bombers, of which two have been lost in accidents and four have been scrapped.

The Russian MoD has completed testing and evaluation on a new radar called Pika-M and has started production.
Built by Russia’s United Instrument-Manufacturing Corporation (UIMC), the Pika-M is advertised by as a fourth-generation side-looking radar system for equipping reconnaissance aircraft and UAVs.
It is tailored for detection of military-specific targets such as roads, airfields, bunkers, strongholds and all classes of battlefield combat vehicles.
Radar information is processed in real time and there is the function for so-called ‘telescopic surveillance’ (in the zoom mode), which provides resolution of some 30cm. Using this mode, the radar is advertised as able to see even individual aircraft elements such as tail, engines, weapons and use the specific signature to identify the aircraft type.
The production of the Pika-M has been launched at the Kulon Scientific-Research Institute. In the beginning the radar was developed for installation in the BKR-3 Sych reconnaissance pod, carried by the Sukhoi Su-34 ‘Fullback’ frontal bomber, but at a later stage it was also proposed for other manned and unmanned aircraft.
When used in the BKR-3 pod, the Pika-M is touted as able of conducting all-weather radar surveillance and reconnaissance, boasting a resolution of 1 to 1.5m when working in the mapping mode, while its detection range is up to 160nm (300km).
Currently, the Kulon Scientific-Research Institute is said to be busy with the development of a technology for fifth-generation side-looking radars using the active electronically-scanned antenna (AESA), in a programme funded by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
The UKR-RL container, in turn, solves the main shortcoming of the Su-34 (Fullback) airborne radar, V004 Chišnik, in the form of a limited field of view. As a result, the crews flying these aircraft in Syria had very little time to find and identify rapidly approaching targets when flying at ground altitudes. The UKR-RL container was first tested in Syria. Its use led to a significant increase in the accuracy of attacks on ground targets. The M402 Pika-M radar, which contains the UKR-RL container, was designed specifically for the Su-34 (Fullback) aircraft, but with a view to future use on unmanned aerial vehicles. For this reason, it has relatively small dimensions and low weight.
reconnaissance: - UKR-RL type container with side-emitting radar (SLAR) type M402 Pika-M from NII Kulon workshop with a weight of 350 kg, operating frequency 7.7 GHz, range 60 km on land, or 120 km at sea, and resolution 2 to 5 m on land, or 6 to 20 m at sea, data storage device and data link for transmitting the obtained information in real time. The large side RL antennas of type M402 are supplemented by smaller antennas located at the bow and stern of the UKR-RL container. The mentioned radar allows to detect and track ground, surface and air targets. In addition, it has the G/MMTI function, i.e. the ability to determine the movement of targets. The UKR-RL container is placed on the front fuselage central pylon.
The Russian Air Force will receive a stratospheric unmanned reconnaissance and strike platform based on modular container system UKR (УКР), consisting of 3 sub-systems:
1 - Surface radar (UKR-RL) (УКР-РЛ)
2 - Radio-technical (UKR-RT) (УКР-РТ)
3- Optoelectronic (UKR-OE) (УКР-ОЭ)
Reconnaissance systems of the “Sych” (“Сыч”) family, previously software and hardware were adapted for use in the base of Su-34M multifunctional fighter-bombers.
