Fire is fire its true whether you like it or not
then awnser my question
it is a simple yes or no question come on
SU27SM is hotter than base SU27 as it burns fuel at a higher tempature SU30sm AL41s are probably colder
that is not a Su-27SM
Su-30 does not have the AL41
as most planes only have the Blue fire close to the engine nozzle where on SU27SM the whole after burner flame is this way
yea sorry AL31-MF-1 on SU27sm are hotter than SU30SM AL31PF they also make more thrust due to buring fuel at higher temps but this causes bigger heat sig
i was asking about the AL-30PF compared to the ones on the base flanker not on the 27sm
i would like to have that source
afterburner color isnt dependend on the heat alone
fuel aditives can change the color of the flame as well as lighting
blue colored flames indicate a more complete combustion but not the size of a heat signiture
ontop of that the concept of heat signitures does not matter for IIR missiles as they basically track the shape of the plane and not its heat
yes but most of it is engine design the SU27SM AL-31 MF-1 was a higher compression higher temp engine than AL31F and PF and if the engine is higher compression it burns hotter
Salyut also developed additional improved variants of the AL-31F with increased thrust and reliability. The first is the AL-31FM1, also designated as the AL-31F series 42, which had a larger KND-924-4 fan, with inlet diameter increasing from 905 mm (35.6 in) on the baseline AL-31 to 924 mm (36.4 in) which increased airflow by 6%. Additional enhancements include an improved core for greater turbine inlet temperature, and improved engine control system. The engine also had improved MTBO of 1,000 hours, projected life of 2,000 hours, and its thrust was increased to 13.5 tonnes-force (132.4 kN; 29,760 lbf); this engine passed Russian state acceptance testing in 2006 and was equipped on the Su-27SM, Su-30M2, and Su-34.[1][10]
The AL-31FM2 is a further development of the AL-31FM1. Fan aerodynamics was further refined to increase its pressure ratio. The engine also incorporated improvements to the combustor and turbine blade aerodynamics and cooling for higher entry temperatures. The AL-31FM2 has a new full authority digital engine control (FADEC) with a hydromechanical backup. Thrust was increased 9% across the envelope, with a maximum thrust of 14.5 tonnes-force (142.2 kN; 31,970 lbf) in afterburner. The engine has an MTBO of 1,000 hours and projected life increased to 3,000 hours. A version of the AL-31FM2 powers initial production batches of the Chengdu J-20 while later batches transitioned to the WS-10C; both of these engines are interim powerplants in place of the J-20’s intended Xian WS-15.[11][12]
The last in this line is the proposed AL-31FM3, which would have a new 3-stage fan, designated KND-924-3, with further increased pressure ratio and additional core improvements to increase turbine inlet temperature by 150 °C. Maximum thrust was increased to 15 tonnes-force (147.1 kN; 33,070 lbf) in afterburner.[1] The AL-31FM3 had been proposed as a potential powerplant for Sukhoi’s T-50 PAK FA design but this was not pursued by Sukhoi, which instead chose Salyut rival NPO Saturn and its AL-41F1.[13][14][10]
Salyut’s developments of the AL-31 would result in serious disputes with Lyulka-Saturn’s successor corporation NPO Saturn, which considers them unsanctioned and in violation of intellectual property rights.[2]
thanks for copying wikipedia
that isnt a source
look at ingame then cause it says the same thing SU27SM is hotter than SU27
when did i ask you about the 27SM
and that is not the temp of the afterburner but the engine itself
temperature =/= heat signiture
same logic applys the engines if they are burning like the SU27SM hot and effcient will have a higher heat signature
you still dont seem to understand that temperature is not the heat signiture
you could build a small 15cm engine that has a blue afterburner but its heat signiture will still be lower than the one from a F-14A or Mig-29
it is a big part of it as bigger nozzle + plus higher combustion tempature means really big hot flame
which will make it alot easier for a missile to lock
you are contradicting yourself i said that the smaller engine has a blue afterburner
meaning by your logic it should have a higher heat signiture
TF 30s are far bigger than the AL31
i was making an example and never talking about the AL31
and again tempreture =/= heat signiture
orange falmes indicate a less complet combustion means that the engines are spewing out more stuff that can carry the heat away further
SU57 uses AL41 which is related to AL31
