Fun fact - Russia no longer has an aircraft carrier. They decided to decommission their only one.
I wonder what’s going to happen to the SU-33s
Used from ground probably
Su-33s can still only use r-27ers…. They’re probably gonna decommission them and then just replace them with su-35s or su-30s
well
rusia has troubles with aircraft amount.
still quite massive part of AF is… Su-27P?
they wont be used that much in current war, but they still exist as noticable part
Probably not, Russia built many units of the Su30SM and Su35 mainly, while the Su27 were updated to current standards with the Su27SM3 version that should have been in the game for a while now, it also received some batches of the Su30SM2 and batches of Su34, let’s say that something that is happening now in Eastern Europe made the demand increase.
the 27SM we have is somewhat a SM3
my personal headcannon:
gaijin wanted the Su-27SM to be the SM3 which got 2 extra wing pylons, but didnt wanted to change the 3d model
so they just gave it dual pylons
It has the SM3 engines if I’m not mistaken, but it doesn’t have radar and avionics, if gaijin had done that, life with the Su27 in the introduction of FOX 3 missiles would have been much less annoying
they werent upgraded in the SM3
it still has the N001
pretty sure irl, (early) 27sm used the n001v, while the sm3 used the vp, which added r-77-1 capability
we already have the N001VEP on the Su-27SM
the there is no N001VP there is a N001VE
or there is no mention of the N001VP anywhere and you have some insider info
i swear the n001ve was just export of v, and n001vep was export of vp
i just got it from here, but the link to the source seems to be dead
it makes no sense for a russian plane to use a export radar
The N001V/N001VE have improved digital processing, with a Russian Baguette BCVM-486-6 processor, compatibility with the R-77 / RVV-AE Adder BVR missile, and a range of air to surface modes to support multirole operations and air to surface and anti-shipping munitions
they are not especially on the VEP the “E” for export woouldnt be in the middle of the name
then what’s export for vp/vep? vepe?
there is no N001VP
just google and try to find any mention af a N001VP, there isnt
not even on wikipedia they mention a N001VP
there’s definitely mentions of it, here it is on russian wiki, but no citation. so its at best dubious, youre prolly right
How not? I saw in several places that it is equipped with Irbis radar, if I’m not mistaken the same one as the Su35
I can’t tell if it’s a Su35 or Su27SM3, maybe it’s a Su35 because of the refueling business there
Its the Su-35BM #901, a pre-series prototype. Su-27SM3s never got N035, only N001V(E)P.
