ok imma get the VKB but do I need a VR for it to work or can i use it without one
Z axis is useless
I have a cheap camera from the market, Xiaomi Imilab. In the evening I turn on the lamp that is behind the monitor and despite this there is no problem with the camera’s operation.
Thats why IR LEDs is used
I hate to say it, but there’s very little return on higher end flight controls for WT, as it’s not really a good flight sim.
If this is your first foray into flight controls, I would buy a middle of the road HOTAS so you can trial it before you commit to a bunch of money for a middling return
There is a distinct difference between ‘cup and ball’ and dedicated axis regardless of how you think WTs flight simulation exists.
Eh, outside of sim, pretty much any Logitech/Saitek/Thrustmaster would be fine for trialing joysticks.
Nice controls are nice, and immersive. But the cost to performance return is steeply slanted.
Wonder if itd work with console.
Generally they do not.
And none of the good ones do.
Quite unfortunate. Id rather not have to get a T16000 but I suppose if its my only choice I may have to or just stick with controller.
Unfortunately you are probably better off playing with keyboard and mouse, or a controller than any of the sticks that work with consoles.
The X-56 throttle is the best damn throttle there is. It has two conveniently located analog axis which is a must. One for pitch trim and one for zoom. It has a shit load of buttons too. In fact I use a X-65F throttle, which doesn’t have any buttons on the base.
The best cheap Thrustmaster model is the Simtask Farming Stick. It has a load of buttons. TM16000 has way too few buttons.
T-flight X (with pedals but you dont need them)
most are currently broken rn there is a bug report though
If you’re on console then the T16000 won’t work on consoles. Console HOTAS is extremely limited.
If you’re on Xbox then the only ones that work are the T.Flight HOTAS One or any of the Turtle Beach Velocity One products.
If you are on PS4/5 the only option you have is the T.Flight HOTAS 4
A cheaper option depending on where you live is the WinWing Ursa Minor. It’s the VKB Gladiator copied 1 to 1 by Chinese company (so that’s kinda scummy) and it’s very cheap atm.
You don’t need VR, some kind of headtracking helps a lot.
I actually enjoy flying simulator a lot, especially in the jet age. But it’s a big learning curve and you will get stomped on starting out.
Virpil all the way. They are pricey, but very, very good. Solid materials, heavy, super precise.
But that said, I’d go with super cheap full stick/throttle/rudder setup first to get used to the control concept, then upgrade if you’re really into it.
I agree they make a very good set of controls for those of us who play DCS/want the full experience. But wouldn’t recommend for someone who’s just getting their feet wet for the first time.
When many years ago I realized that I needed a flightstick, I went to the nearest store and bought the cheapest one (about $30). After flying with it for some time, I realized for myself what I was missing in it and bought a suitable one, and then an even more suitable one.
As I understand it, OP doesn’t really need it, otherwise with modern delivery services, the flightstick would already be on his desk.
I am using WinWing’s Taurus and Libra and have not experienced any serious glitches, they are performing fantastic. However, in recent years, there have been some bad voices in the Chinese community, and the reliability of WinWing’s new products has been questioned, perhaps because the overlap of the DCS player community in China is very high, resulting in many groups claiming that WinWing’s new products may fail.I’m not sure if these messages are reliable at first, but at least my device is reliable and excellent after several years of operation.
